My question is this: Today I heard music played by Fox News while they were showing clips of President Ford. The music was the beginning of the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey with the trumpets as they lead into the tiffany drums and then the entire orchestral body. It was only those six notes da da daaa, da da daaa. They would repeat at different levels of higher or lower. For example. If the string started at A, the next time it might start at C and then maybe start at A again; so on and so forth. It didn't sound like a loop; it sounded as if though it was made expressly as a dignified and solemn sounding version of the 2001 theme opening notes. This is a tad difficult to explain.
