nobody_home Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Many of you may already be rock snobs without realizing it. Here's Alan Cross to sort it out for you other people: How To Talk Like a Rock Snob 1 How To Talk Like a Rock Snob 2 How To Talk Like a Rock Snob 3 How To Talk Like a Rock Snob 4 Now some lessons: How to Fake It How to Fake It: Part Two
TheLizard Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I'm listening to Part 1 right now. The sad thing is, I know all that stuff he said about the New York Dolls .
Jenny Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 (edited) I'm getting some schooling....listening to Part 2 right now. Always heard of Nick Cave...never actually listened to him. Is it all like this? How depressing. I love how Alan Cross introduced this segment as "Know someone who is only wearing black until something darker comes along?" Edited October 17, 2006 by Guest
Shadows Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 I'm not typical person like that lol...I hate wearing black, I would prefer to wear insanely bright colours. And I'm not stupid enough to think I know everything about music, cause I obviously don't. So I wouldn't say I'm a rock snob
TheLizard Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I'm a bit of a rock snob, apparently. This is all modern rock snobbery though. I wonder what the criteria is for classic rock snobbery.
Batman Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I'd consider a classic rock snob anyone who discounts post 1990's rock.
The Seeker Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 What a good thing that I like Oasis, then.
katie_sane Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Aren't we all rock snobs here? Customer: I don't have that record... I'll buy it for forty. Rob: Sold. Customer: Now why would you sell it to me and not to him? Barry: Because you're not a geek, Louis. Customer: You guys are snobs. Dick: No, we're not. Customer: Yeah, seriously, you're totally elitist. You feel like the unappreciated scholars, so you s**t on people who know less than you. Barry, Rob, Dick: No! Customer: Which is everybody... Barry, Rob, Dick: Yeah... ~ High Fidelity
Uncle Joe Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Disco Sucks! My heart wasn't really in that. Just talking rock snobbish.
TheLizard Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I'd consider a classic rock snob anyone who discounts post 1990's rock. Well then I guess I'm not a classic rock snob. Most of my friends consider me a music snob, but then again most of my friends aren't as knowledgeable or accomplished as me in terms of music.
