Elvish
How modern do you mean? 80s, 90s or 00s? For more recent songs: Fiona Apple "Criminal" Macy Gray "I Try" Matchbox Twenty most of the songs on "Yourself or Someone Like You" (or their other two cds for that matter) Maroon 5's "Songs About Jane" Sugar Ray has a couple good ones. . . I'm sure I can come up with more if I sleep on it! :sleepy:

It may be the warmest , sexiest love song you've ever heard.

Elvish
Okay, since the modern thing has gone out the window: how about "Just Remember I Love You" by Firefall, lots of songs by James Taylor, "I'll Have to Say I Love You In a Song" by Jim Croce, "Love Song" and "What You Give" by Tesla (those last two are a little more modern, I admit)

XXX
I thought I already replied to this topic, but I guess for the most part songs are about love, so almost any one of them can be chosen. This time around, how about: "Just Another High" by Roxy Music "The Prettiest Star" by David Bowie "Drive" by The Cars "A Question Of Lust" by Depeche Mode

_jr_
how about Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You '92 I'm sorry, but Dolly Parton's version is better. At least I think it is. It's more simplistic and more heartfelt. Whitney Houston's version is a grandiose egomaniacal self indulgent shell of the original. but hey, that's just one man's opinion. Oh, as far as love songs, I always thought Madonna's "Crazy For You" was pretty good. "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak might qualify as an angst ridden lust song. That's kind of like love, isn't it? MuzikTyme
Personally, the Beatles' George Harrison's, Something, to me, has always been the most beautiful love song. This piece may not be considered modern but it certainly is timeless. The following lyrics have never failed to move me with their stark simplicity: Something in the way she moves Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way she woos me I don?t want to leave her now You know I believe her now Somewhere in her smile she knows That I don?t need no other lover Something in her style that shows me Don?t want to leave her now You know I believe her now You?re asking me will my love grow I don?t know, I don?t know You stick around now it may show I don?t know, I don?t know Something in the way she knows And all I have to do is think of her Something in the things she shows me Don?t want to leave her now You know I believe her now...
