You know, I got a nice set of headphones maybe, 8-9 years ago. Sony, the big ear muff style, and I'll tell you, it's the best 100 bucks I ever spent.

So often, music is just the background of whatever it is you happen to be doing, but when you put on a good set of headphones, and really listen, that's when the music appreciation occurs. All the nuances are captured.

That being said, here's my list of 'ultimate headphone songs':

In The Hall of the Mountain King ~ Wagner

Do You Feel Like We Do? ~ Peter Frampton

Green Eyed Lady ~ Sugarloaf

Linus and Lucy (Charlie Brown theme) ~ Vince Guaraldi

The Prophet Song ~ Queen

Eleanor Rigby ~ The Beatles

Hibernation ~ Ted Nugent

I'm sure if I went back and looked over my cds, I'd come up with a bunch more, but that's off the top of my head.

One of my favorites to listen through headphones is the Grass Roots' "Let's Live for Today." Each verse starts out in one channel and moves to the other!

(Unfortunately, on some CD's, they fixed that so the verse is in the same channel, and it's not so cool! I suggest you find a stereo LP with the song on it and listen to that if you still have a turntable!)

I used to record my LPs on tapes for my Sony walkman and I love this stereo effect... it´s true, some cds are remastered/retaped/rewhatever and they don´t sound the same way the LPs did...
