Brad_M Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 No, but I'd like to meet their tailor. aw-hoo!
_Laurie_ Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 LOL yeah pretty snazzy suits huh?
OLD 55 Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) I was going to say Badfinger, but someone else always says them. Also there's no Pete Ham there and their hair's too short. Looks like a "British Invasion" band. Not the Tremeloes, is it? No, I think they stopped wearing suits after Brian Poole went solo. Thanks for the enthusiastic reception Brad & Laurie. AND Edna ! Edited September 29, 2005 by Guest
_Laurie_ Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 You're Very Much Welcome 55....and now for the pic...someone must know who these guys are???
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 you guys need a hint? they had one big hit and a couple of other hits in the mid to late 60's
OLD 55 Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 Hi Joe and Shawna. There were 5 members of the Box Tops, sounds good otherwise; and there's no Peter Noone (Hermans Hermits) in the pic. That little devil Laurie has me thinking. I've been on the go all day supervising Val packing, but now I'm going to have a good think about who(m) it may be. I'll guess the Mindbenders from the clues - although their Hits were 65/66 - that's not late 60s, but there was only 4 of them. I don't know what they look like. Gee, a couple of those guys in the photo look familiar I'm sure.
bazooka Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Who are the Boxtops? Hey Unc, This is the Quiz. Not Jeopardy! At least it's not like "Win Ben Stein's Money", where he puts the Dunce Cap on the contestants that say their answer in the form of a question.
OLD 55 Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 I knew I'd seen that pic before. I just found them in my "N.M.E. (New Musical Express - the Top U.K. music mag) Who's Who Of Rock And Roll" book; it's The Troggs. Not the pic Laurie used, they're a little bit older in the one in my book, but definitely them. I wouldn't have gotten it without your clue though Laurie.
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Well 55 this little evil devil is gonna say YOU GOT IT! Good Job 55...and to all the others, those were good guesses...I did say Mid to late 60's ...I think Wild Thing was '66..... Yeah It's your turn 55! yippee ! hurray!....doing my happy dance
OLD 55 Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 Thanks Laurie my dear, but we are packing (well I should be, but I had to check this out) to leave tomorrow. Would you please put on another one ?
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Ok thanks 55...have a fun and safe trip...Im going on several hours here without any sleep so I'll try to think of something.
edna Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Bon voyage, M. 55 and family!! Good to know you´ll have a rest and we´ll have a new quiz soon!!!
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I'm too tired to think of a question, so here's another quiz pic ok?
daslied Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 That's the ugliest collection of bastards I've seen today.
Brad_M Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Is that another way of saying you don't know the answer?
Shawna Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 the more I stare at those troglodytes, the more familiar they look... Southern Rock era?
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Nah more of a Hair Band Shawna....They did a cover of a 60's song that I really like.
daslied Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Gotta be Nazareth then, of "Love Hurts" fame. That's about what I thought they'd look like.
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 no, but good guess das..this band was formed in 1985.
_Laurie_ Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Nah more of a Hair Band Shawna....They did a cover of a 60's song that I really like. correction: they did a cover of an early 70's song...sorry
