RonJonSurfer
Back to the Farm The Philadelphia Inquirer Following the example of Live 8's triumphant return to Philadelphia, Farm Aid cofounders Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp announced they'll stage the concert's 20th anniversary in Illinois, where it all began. Starting with a week of events in Chicago, the fund-raising musicfest will take place Sept. 18 at the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park, IL, urging Americans to buy food from family farms. The show will feature Nelson, Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews, plus other artists to be announced. Farm Aid began in 1985 when Nelson, inspired by comments from Bob Dylan at Live Aid, hosted a daylong music benefit for family farmers in Champaign, Ill. Over the years, Farm Aid has raised more than $27 million to help American farmers
