happygrl Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Does anyone happen to know which Eric Clapton song is about the boy who drowned?
RonJonSurfer Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Tears in Heaven is about his son's death. but he didn't drown...he fell out of an apartment window in NYC.
happygrl Posted May 14, 2005 Author Report Posted May 14, 2005 Thanks. Someone was talking about it at work but said it wasn't "Tears in Heaven." And they couldn't remember the name. :guitar:
Eggplant Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Are you talking about "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins? There's this urban legend that it's about a boy drowning and it being sung to the person that watched him drown and didn't offer help. I believe the story goes that Phil was too far away or too stoned to help and witnessed this person's selfishness. The true story is it's about his divorce from his wife at the time. Go to this link and read about it: "In The Air Tonight"
Marie42191 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I believe that this song is about his own son who tragically fell from a building. It is a real touchy song but beautiful. Along with If I Could Change the world! Classy stuff.
MarcM Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Does anyone else see the irony in someone called "Happygrl" asking "Does anyone happen to know which Eric Clapton song is about the boy who drowned?"
