Ken Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Those of you raised Catholic will understand. It was like Good Friday High Latin Mass X 12, a math exam, going to the dentist for a cleaning and scraping, and an evening with a spinster aunt all rolled up into one. When Russell Crowe committed suicide, I'da traded places with him.
Zabadak Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Hmm... I always thought "Les Miserables" was about a bunch of unhappy ladies in comfortable shoes! Am I going to Hell?
TheLizard Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 It's a year old movie based on a 30 year old musical based on a 250 year old book. I think we're passed the "spoiler alert" phase.
Shawna Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I haven't seen it. It's on my Netflix queue.
RockyRaccoon Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I actually really liked it. It was a bit long, but the music is phenomenal, always has been, and I thought the movie from last year did a pretty good job with it, especially Anne Hathaway doing "I Dreamed A Dream", that was intense.
Jenny Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 I just saw it last week. I have always like the musical, so I was a little biased, but I did feel like they cast for star power, not for singing abilities. As much as I like Russell Crowe's acting, his singing didn't do the music justice. Not as bad as Richard Gere in "Chicago", though...he sounded like he was singing through his nose.
