OO7 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Thanks for having me on your forum. I found this site while looking for the group that did a song from the 70s (at least close to the 70s) with the only lyrics the word hey, in various forms. I don't recall any other lyrics, but I wouldn't bet on it. I would call it classic rock or maybe hard rock. Thanks for any help. Edited December 26, 2008 by Guest solved :)
_Laurie_ Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Hello 007...Welcome to Songfacts... first song I thought of was "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" by Steam....
Shawna Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I thought of "Hollywood Swinging" by Kool and the Gang. Not classic rock nor hard rock, but now I've got a hella earworm.
LeeBB Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) I bet it's What I Like About You by The Romantics. Whatcha reckon? LBB ps, anyone got a link? I'm carving the Christmas lunch... ahh GOT one!! Edited December 24, 2008 by Guest
Barry Berry Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Hey, hey , hey...that's what I say satisfaction - rolling stones
Jk Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Could it be "Rock And Roll Part 2" by Gary Glitter? Here's the Songfacts page for it, which has a clip on it. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1604 I always recognized it as the theme for the Chicago Bulls Basketball team when I was a kid and they were winning the championships.
logan01 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Land of a Thousand Dances? Substitute "na" for hey" and ............ Hey, Mrs. Robinson has a bunch of heys in it.
edna Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Hey, let´s make a thread about songs with "hey" in their lyrics... Hey Hey My My - Neil Young Steam would be a good guess, Laurie...
OO7 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Posted December 24, 2008 Could it be "Rock And Roll Part 2" by Gary Glitter? That's definitely it. I may remember it more from sporting events than from the time it was released. Thanks a lot.
evenslimmersladey Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 (edited) Oh Well thought it could have been Hard luck by the Undertones. Version on the album Hypnotised has lots of hey heys with additional lyrics but the single version (B side of My Perfect Cousin) is just a mass of drums, guitars and Hey heys... a new wave classic.
