Mike Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Ok, time for a silly question since Songfacts was basically founded on the Beatles, and the Beatles made the phrase yeah, yeah, yeah famous - It won't be long probably has the most yeah's with She loves you a close second, -my question is what songs by other bands used yeah yeah's. - hey, I said is was silly did'nt I? ::
Slothchild64 Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 First thing that popped into my head when I read with was Carly Simon's Mockingbird: Mock (yeah) ing (yeah) bird (yeah) Yeah (yeah) Of course, now this will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day! ::
TheLizardKing Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Tommy James and the Shandells' "Mony Mony" and it's various remakes have an absurd amount of "yeah"'s, and Jim Morrison has a tendency to say the phrase "alright, yeah" in a few of his Doors songs. That's all I can think of at the moment, I've got "California Girls" stuck in my head, preventing me from thinking of anything else creative.
Daveinaz Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Give a listen to Georgie Fame. The song is called "Yeh Yeh".
beatleant Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 My favourite Alice Cooper album, "Killer" has a song called ... yep, you guessed it ... "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah." :guitar: Ant

bazooka Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 It is usually 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah' or 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah', but Steve Miller uses 4 or 5 yeahs for emphasis in good percentage of his songs. "Living in the U.S.A", "Jet Airliner", "Space Cowboy", "Your Saving Grace" are a few examples.
surfingbetty Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 The coolest yeah yeah yeah song for me is Jesus & Mary Chain's Head On, at the end, it rocks.
Charles H. Gabriel Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Believe it or not, Peggy Lee recorded a Louis Prima jump-blues song called "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" in 1951 (Capitol F1428). Five years later, this kind of music was being labeled as "rock and roll." An amazing record. Lee would have been right at home on the Atlantic label, or as a vocalist with Johnny Otis!
Batman Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I like it best when Paul Mcartney starts saying "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" a ton on Hey Jude.
