Farin
Last.fm radio played them already three times for me, and I think I could like them After investigating a bit it seems that they've been around for quite a while, so I guess the chance that one of you can tell me something about them and maybe (hopefully) suggest some cool songs is given. TheLizard
I know very little about them, but I've always liked what I've heard. Also, in 2006 they came out with the best album title ever.

skybluesky
They were on an episode of Gilmore girls {my all time favorite TV show} featuring a myriad of potential town troubadors. They performed "Tried So Hard." And that is what I know about Yo La Tengo. My Little Corner of the World-from the Gg soundtrack.
blind-fitter
I have an album of theirs- "I'm Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass"- which is pretty good, in the right circumstances. More opinion & advice...some other time.
Viaene
One of my friends likes them, I'll ask her as soon as I remember it I know: Our way to fall By the time it gets dark, a cover from Sandy Denny which sounds very good (can't find a nice youtube )
Levis
Last.fm highly recommends them to me, but when I played my recommendations the chose not to enlighten me, so... I've got to do some research too. It tells me I'll like them cos they're similar to Pavement, Low, Spiritualized and My Bloody Valentine.
Ombre Vivante
Always confused them with Vaya Con Dios

Not to my ears, anyway.
Farin
if I remember right the similar artists are calculated by how many people listen to, say Yo La Tengo AND Low, Spiritualized, etc and not necessarily by the style of their music - even though that's what it comes down to most of the time... so I noticed that, eg, very often a band and the solo project of one of their members are the most similar artists, even though they don't make the same music at all
