I never liked videos very much, it must be cause part of my work, 25 years ago, was watching every video there was. When you see 50 in a row you wish you were swimming or reading a book... :P Yet there´s a guy who made very good videos for Peter Gabriel and Tears For Fears, I don´t know his name and can´t find the clips...

"Don´t Answer Me" - Alan Parsons Project is a good video...

Closer comes to mind (Nine Inch Nails). Although I'm not sure if I've ever seen an uncut version. All of their videos are artistic (stark, and sometimes graphic). I like Head Like a Hole (but it is interspersed with concert footage...)

I really love the Johnny Cash Hurt video. The director does an excellent job of evoking the NIN-style video, but also interweaves elements from Cash's life. Really moving.
