Heather22960 Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 What Led Zeppelin song do they use for the Mitsubishi commercial? Thanks.
miamisammy29 Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 They use the song "Rock and Roll" (from Zeppelin IV) in some car commercial. Is that the same one?
Heather22960 Posted July 20, 2004 Author Report Posted July 20, 2004 No. In this commertial it almost sounds like there saying ballroom dancing, but I am not really sure.
Jimmy1104 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Cadillac uses Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin. The song Heather is referring to is Ballroom Blitz done by Sweet. This song goes back to around 1975 or so. Sweet also did a song called Little Willy with the verse "Little Willy Willy won't, go home". I believe Ballroom Blitz is the song because I have heard it on a car commercial and I think it was Mitsubishi. BTW....I own a Mitsu!
Heather22960 Posted July 21, 2004 Author Report Posted July 21, 2004 Your right. I can't believe that I thought it was Led Zeppelin.
mich Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 (I think) we have a different Mitsu ad in the UK. The lyrics go on about tugging on Superman's cape, 'you don't mess around with the old Lone Ranger', etc. Sorry I can't be more descriptive, but does anyone know who THIS one is by? Thanks!
Minky Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I think the song is 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim' by Jim Croce.
mich Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Thanks Minky. That's the song, but I prefer the version in the ad! Any idea who it's by?
Minky Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Mich, I think it's a US country singer called Josh Turner. You can buy his version of the song, via iTunes, from his website: http://www.josh-turner.com/ Disconcertingly, he looks like he ought to be in a boy band but sounds like he's had a lifetime of moonshine and cheap cigarettes.
Batman Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Thats funny, I had the same question, but I didn't know what commercial it was for. I thought it was zep too! And I also thought that they were saying "Coral Mist" whatever that is.
Heather22960 Posted July 30, 2004 Author Report Posted July 30, 2004 I know. I couldn't quite understand what they were saying. Now when i listen to it I can't believe that i didn't understand it.
TheCyberdemon Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 I've also heard "Let me stand next to your fire" by Hendrix in a car commercial before, can't remember who's though.
