  1. It might be "Original Sin" by INXS Lyrics (may vary): You might know of the original sin And you might know how to play with fire But did you know of the murder committed In the name of love you thought what a pity Dream on white boy Dream on black girl Then wake up to a brand new day To find your dreams are washed away There was a time when I did not care And there was a time when the facts did stand There is a dream and held by me Well I'm sure you had to see it's up in arms Dream on white boy Dream on black girl Then wake up to a brand new day Dream on black boy Dream on white girl Then wake up to a brand new day Hope this helped.
  2. What on earth were they thinking with that? Not classic but unforgettable at least ::. Oh and I've heard that's Paul's body parts all over them.
  3. Most of the Beatles main albums had classic covers. Like Abbey Road : King Crimson's In The Court of the Crimson King : Led Zeppelin's albums had pretty cool covers like the one on their debut: Also the obvious major bands like Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and The Who had some interesting covers.
  4. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - The Beatles It was their first #1 single in the U.S. and greatly aided in launching both Beatlemania and the British Invasion.
  5. If I helped, I'm glad and your welcome. Just a little Google searching.
  6. A song released on the second side of a single. Like "Hey Jude" (Beatles), featured on side A while "Revolution" was on side B. "Dead on Arrival" was released on the B or second side of "Hot in the City".
  7. I find "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies undeniably entertaining and although I'm not a big Rolling Stones fan I do find "Miss You" almost irresistible. I guess its the disco beat thing. ::
  8. Possibly, though I thought maybe it was a newer cover done by Chantel Kreviazuk.
  9. I've always thought Steve Winwood and Jack Bruce (Cream) did pretty good vocals for their respective '60's groups so honorable mention to them .
  10. Is it "Leaving on a Jetplane"? Written by John Denver but sung by a woman in the trailer.
  11. Lol, pretty funny but I seriously doubt that would have been the way their career went. :: Though it does make me wonder what would have happened...
  12. Really? Cool! What's the occasion?
  13. Though my parents and I don't quite share the same tastes in music, my dad first got me interested in the Who, Elton John, Supertramp and Peter Frampton (though he is more into Styx and Boston). My mom, inadvertantly, introduced me to Led Zeppelin (she is more into progressive rock like ELP). Both, however, I could say turned me on to older rock music so I'm totally thankful despite some of our differing opinions. .
  14. "My Sharona" by the Knack hit #1 on Aug, 25 1979.
  15. I personally don?t think anything is overrated per se. Overrated, to me just means that something I dislike, a whole bunch of other people think and say is terrific. But, what I think is great or not is my opinion, what others think is great or not is their opinion; neither of us can be proven right or wrong. And how does one determine greatness anyway, especially in an art as completely subjective as music? Anyway here are some bands/artists whose music (including albums and songs),IMO, is nothing special: - U2 (Someone had the nerve to say they were the ?Beatles? of a new generation or something like that. Yeah, uh, dream on.) - The Rolling Stones - Elvis Presley - Nirvana - Metallica - Madonna Note: I am not saying that these musicians are untalented or not influential and I have nothing against them personally just that I don?t particularly enjoy their music and don?t see why it is so popular.
  16. Being not very impressed with Phil Spector?s additions to Let it Be (1970) (though it being the Beatles and terrific songs at that I could not say I dislike it), I would have to say one of Lennon?s or Harrison?s solo albums would be a favorite. (Let It Be?Naked, I hear, is superior musically to the original: ?Don?t Let Me Down? is included in place of ?Maggie Mae? and ?Dig It?, the melodramatic strings and choir is taken off ?Long and Winding Road?, thankfully, and ?Across The Universe? and ?I Me Mine? are also different. The song order is different and I think the dialogue is taken out. Friends of mine have heard it and think that even though it is more polished it doesn?t capture the true spirit behind the sessions thus is not really what was 'originally' intended but still excellent.)
  17. The Beatles: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" "Long and Winding Road" "In My Life" (Each have a very sad connotation to me .) "Tears in Heaven" - Eric Clapton "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd "Drops of Jupiter" - Train "Candle in The Wind" - Elton John
  18. The "oh"s sung just before the title in "I Saw Her Standing There" by the Beatles (Love the 'na's and various other exclamations heard throughtout "Hey Jude" (coda) too!) The extended "YEAH!!" on the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again". The "OH, OH, OH, OH"s before the chorus on "Sweet Child O' Mine" And lots more I can't think of right now. (Also, though not really an exclamation, but I love the "mmm"s at the end of "Yesterday")
  19. Yeah, but in a way with Pete Best or Stu there would not the Beatles as we know (and love) them. Anyway I was referring to them when and after they recorded their debut album. George Martin was such a big part of the band as Martin pointed out that I label him the '5th Beatle' (in the band of John, Paul, George (H.) and Ringo)
  20. I voted for Paul. (So cool and cute! ) And he was (is) such an amazing songwriter and musician; the heart of the Beatles in my opinion. They were all wonderful and John is a close runner-up but Paul would have to be my favorite. Also George Martin, producer and the true '5th' Beatle, would be one of my top favorites.
  21. Great ones Elvish! Are You Experienced - Jimi Hendrix Music From Big Pink - The Band
  22. Agreed. I think they are a little overrated and I wouldn?t want them on my classic rock radio station. As for hurting modern music, that's possible, though, IMO, the lack of talent and originality among some of today's bands isn't helping either.
  23. "Layla", "Sunshine of Your Love" and ?Day Tripper? all boast excellent riffs. The Kinks had some terrific ones featured in ?You Really Got Me? and ?All Day and All of The Night? and the opening and interspersed riff on Aerosmith?s ?Walk This Way? is fantastic. AC/DC, imo, created some of hard rock?s best, most powerful riffs (e.g. Highway To Hell, Rock N? Roll ain?t Noise Pollution etc.) thus my favorite would have to be ?Back In Black? with ?Layla? running a close second.
