  1. anyone else want to compare lists?
  2. here's my top ten! 1 Girl Talk - Feed the Animals 2 Flying Lotus - Los Angeles 3 The Cool Kids - Bake Sale 4 No Age - Nouns 5 Fleet Foxes - s/t 6 Passion Pit - Chunk of Change 7 Deerhunter - Microcastle 8 Dodos - Visiter 9 Tobacco - F**ked Up Friends 10 Oh No - Dr. No's Oxperiment
  3. I thought Hercules and Love Affair & Vampire Weekend were sooooo overrated!
  4. I'm not a huge fan of Damien Rice or U2, but he does an awesome acoustic cover of I Still Haven't found What I'm Looking For
  5. The physical album came out in 2008 so I guess they are identifying it as a 2008 album. Alive 2007 came out in 2007 as well
  6. Mine is actually Feed The Animals, I was just saying In Rainbows should win out of the ones nominated.
  7. Who I think should win each category (or at least, the ones I have an opinion about) : Record of the year: MIA - Paper Planes May end up being one of the anthems of our generation. Such a great track. Album of the year: Radiohead - In Rainbow although Lil Wayne will probably win it (since he got so many noms), which is cool, because it actually might be interesting to watch the Grammy's this year if someone as eccentric and weird as Lil Wayne wins a ton of awards. Song of the year: Estelle - American Boy Never understood how this award differs from record of the year, but this song was great. Pop perfection for sure. Best Electronic/Dance Album: Daft Punk - Alive 2007 One of the best live electronic albums of all time. I actually can't even think of a better one off the top of my head. Best Alternative Music Album: Radiohead - In Rainbows Shouldn't be a doubt in the grammy voters minds! Best solo rap performance: Lil Wayne - A Milli This is actually my favorite song of the year. I didn't think Tha Carter III lived up to expectations for the most part. All his mixtapes are pretty fragmented, containing a few moments of genius and a lot of not so great stuff, so his album should have been perfect, but it wasn't. No matter, A Milli is still a great song. The lyrics make no sense when you read them but when he's rapping it all makes perfect sense. other thoughts: -I can't believe Wayne Brady covered A Change Is Gonna Come. -I wonder how they're going to announce Nas' song in the best solo rap performance category
  8. Oh my goodness, what terrible nominations
  9. "Float On" is a great song, sure it was overplayed, but that's just because it was so great
  10. Rock history is becoming more important in schools because the teachers are former 60's hippies
  11. I don't love that style of rock though
  12. My favorite album is the Moon and Antarctica, but my favorite song by far is Talking ******* About a Pretty Sunset. Foolonthehill, I bet you and Madonna would get along well, because she is a material girl
  13. I think marijuana is worth trying at least once, as long as you are positive it's coming from a safe source so you don't have an experience like Shawna's. But now that I think about it, there are very few weed smokers who really know where their weed is coming from. It's funny, most people "grow out" of weed, or at least don't do it as often after a certain point, but not very many people seem to "grow out" of alcohol. I wonder if the legal status of the two drugs has anything to do with it?
  14. I remember the 2nd day of college, our hall went for a big smoke session, and one guy asked "how much has everyone smoked in one sitting before?" and a lot of people were going around saying "three" or "four" and he was like "hmmmm" and we ended up smoking about twenty bowls that night. ha ha, good times. In conclusion, I smoked too much last year and now I don't find it fun anymore. I think I will take a yearlong break, and next year just be more moderate about it.
  15. I've heard of the city Woodstock New York but was not aware they ever held a concert there
  16. Petition For Axl Rose To Retire From The Spotlight 1. Tim Ryan 2. Miamisammy 3. Sébastien 4. Kenne 5. Batman Though I think it would be amusing to hear something artistic of Axl's
  17. Probably Austin, Texas, another city in the US known for a good music scene
  18. And Knocked Up is the 40 Year Old Virgin of our generation.
  19. This line from "Juicy" by Notorious BIG (written sometime in the mid 90's) "Now I'm in the limelight cuz I rhyme tight, time to get paid blow up like the world trade" would be considered offensive if it came out today.
  20. Yeah after a while it's just, "hey here I am again, eating chips and watching TV." It is very fun when you just start though, and I would definitely reccomend trying it. It seems like it makes sense to have a "weed phase," but it also seems silly for it to go on too long.
  21. They're not only sick, they are dope as well.
  22. Daft Punk - Superheroes one of my favorites from DP
