  1. You don't know scarry until you have seen these guys live...
  2. If they come to Minnesota or North Dakota or anywhere around there I will get my dad to drive me otherwise I will have to pay for a flight. If I knew The Eagles were touring a month before I did I could have seen them. My dad would have bought a flight in a second. I missed one of my four favourite bands I am nto going to miss another one. I even missed Def Leppard and they were came to my city and I didn't hear one thing about it.
  3. I am not saying I hate The Stones but I do feel they are overrated. Also I am not just about the meaning of the songs that is just another point. One of my favourite songs is Bionic Man - Fabuolous Poodles just because it si a fun great sounding song. But there are bands that rock harder then the Rolling Stones. Kiss and Aerosmith are two great exapmles. Gene Simmions is about 1% music and 200% about the rock. I don't think the stones are the greatest rock band ever. I personally ahte bands that redo other bands songs but I even think that Gob did a better job at Paint it Black then the stones did. I don't, can't and never will see the stones as the greatest rock band.
  4. The Rolling Stones are very over-rated. I do not see what is so special about them. I ahve heard alot better and moving songs. The Eagles are much better. I was reading song facts on Journey and it said they inturrupted their tour to open for the stones. IMO the stones should have been opening for them. Am I the only one who fells this way? Please explain to me what makes them so good? I would much rather see The Eagles and I know alot of people who would rather see them too. How deep and meaningful does this sound to you "I says, Hey! You! Get off of my cloud Hey! You! Get off of my cloud Hey! You! Get off of my cloud Don't hang around 'cause two's a crowd On my cloud, baby" What is your opinion on the Rolling Stones?
  5. Well here are mine In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butteryfly (I am not sure if this counts) Sweet Child O Mine - GNR Another One Bites The Dust - Queen But like said before the best is Rock Lobster - B-52s
  6. I haven't read all of this yet but The Eagles concert in Hawaii for the best seats it is $250 USD and $90 for furthest back I believe. I can't see any modern band being able to charge that much and still have people come.
  7. Dire Straits for my 3 favourite songs by them -Money For Nothing -Sultans of Swing -Walk Of Life
  8. I never bought any vinyls and all the CDs I have are greatest hits of 8 bands on one CD. But I believe my dad bought Fleetwood Mac Rumours on CD and vinyl. But I do have some of the same songs on vinyls and CD.
  9. Walk this way You think of the Guitar Riff. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida You think of that cool part
  10. Well I am going to reccomend two great rock bands Loverboy and Harlequin. I recently found out that Harlequin is from where I live, Winnipeg. And Loverboy is also Canadian. A few good Harlequin Songs -Thinking Of You -Superstisious Feeling -Innocense -I Did it for Love Loverboy -Hot Girls In Love -Working for the Weekend -Queen of the Broken Hearts -Turn Me Loose -The Kid is Hot Tonight All of their songs are great but these ones are exceptionally good. Especially Queen of The Broken Hearts and Thinking of You.
  11. I am confused. I was reading the comments about what the song is about and there is alot of stuff about the Sex Pistols. What exactly was going on between the Sex Pistols and The Who at the time? Can someone tell me what exactly all this stuff about the Sex Pistols is about? Unfortunatly I wasn't alive during this era.
  12. I think everyone is missing Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf. If that is considered a Jouyney. But it is more of a story. Not really imaginative though.
  13. I have these bands and songs Eagles - Hotel California Steve Miller Band - Take the Money and Run Carl Douglas - Kung Fu fighting Kansas - Carry on my Wayward Son Boston - More then a feeling Queen - You're My Best Friend Aerosmith - Walk this Way What are the band members who sung these songs and in the band when this song was wrote? How long are those songs?
  14. On a US radio station. It said this song is about the death of Buddly Holly. I know it is about Richie Valens and the Big Bopper too but it would make more sence if it was just about one person wouldn't it? Also what does bye bye Miss American Pie have to do with their deaths?
  15. Who origionally sang the song Cotton Eye Joe? What year was it in?
  16. What is the true meaning of Mr. Roboto? On one web site I found this The album Kilroy was here, by the group Styx tells a fictitious story about a world famous rock star named Kilroy. The story is set in the near future, and each song tells a different part of that story and social meaning. The story briefly goes like this: Dr. Everett Righteous, the founder and leader of a group called MMM (Majority for Musical Morality), has his own television channel and preaches about the immorality of rock music. At one of Kilroys concerts the MMM storms the stage, captures Kilroy, and sends him to jail with other captured rock and roll stars. Also in this time, Robotos (robots) have taken over the meaningless jobs once done by humans, like factory labor, and work in jails. In Kilroys jail the MMM forced mind controlling propaganda at the rock and roll inmates all day. Meanwhile the leader of the rock and roll resistance, Jonathan, jams the signal and replaced it with an outlawed tape of one of Kilroys concerts. Kilroys hope is reborn and he escapes inside one of the security guard robotos. After his escape he leaves the roboto mask on while he searches out Jonathan. When he meets up with Jonathan he can finally escape from his mask. This songs literal meaning depicts his escape from jail, but the true meaning of this song is hidden in the words and expresses Dennis DeYoungs (the lead vocalist and writer) thoughts about the average blue-collar worker. He first educates the listeners about the workers in their meaningless lives. He sings of how the workers are human on the inside, but on the outside, treated sub-human, as if they only exist for the companys profit. My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain I.B.M Im not a robot without emotions-Im not what you see This is a metaphor about how being forced into working in dulldrum factory jobs is dehumanizing. He explains the futility of the workers efforts to get out of this type of work. Im just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control Beyond my control-we all need control I need control- we all need control There is no way for these workers to escape their jobs, except through the use of robotos to do take their place. He starts thanking the robots for taking their jobs in the third verse. This might seem contradictory to his entire ideal that robots are bad, but he is merely being facetious and sarcastic. The entire third verse is devoted to thanking the robotos for taking their jobs so they dont have to suffer any more. The irony is explained in the part after the thanking when he states: The problem's plain to see: too much technology Machines to save our lives. Machines dehumanize. He sympathizes with the workers because machines are taking the place of human jobs. This can be good or bad. Good in the sense that now peoples intelligence doesnt have to be insulted anymore, but bad because people are losing their jobs. But what if the recently fired worker does not have the education to go out and find another job? In short, they are screwed. Mr. Roboto is a song that addresses the issue of class, specifically the lower working class. In a world that technology is advancing so rapidly that robots and other automated machines take over human jobs, its too easy to overlook how this can affect people on the personal level. In fact the end of this song explains the workers getting fed up. They throw away the mask, so everyone can see who they really are, human beings with feelings. Mr. Roboto explains what it feels like to lose your job to a machine. In the song facts it doesn't sound like anyone is clear. What is the true meaning behind Mr. Roboto?
  17. Who sang time warp in the Rocky Horror Picture Show? It almost sounds like Meatloaf.
  18. Thats not what I mean. It is different from every other part in the song it just doesn't fit or rhyme why not? They could have put somehting else. It's really bugging me.
  19. Not ture im am not like that I just think it is cool. And I wish I had extra time on my ahnds. Also for the person that sadi whoever listens to it backwards wrecks good music. That is not true. I accually opens up a whole new dimention of music. If you think about it do you think queen would make a song like another one bites the dust. A song wihtout meaning. When most of their songs are so meaningful. I think it is meant ot play backwards. And it does reflect Queen to I think where is says "It's fun to smoke mara." in Another one bites the dust If you think about it. Listen to Don't Stop me Now. It says "I'm floating around in extacy" I hope that is how you spell it. Think about it...
  20. I was listning to Black Betty by Ram Jam and in the last verse it says "She's from Birmingham Bama Lamb Way down in Alabama Bama Lamb " Which doesn't match the other lyrics in the song or even the meaning. It just doesn't fit. It doesn't rhyme. What is it suppsoed to mean. It's like Ram Jam had to include it in the song for some reason. Why? It it personal experience about someone in Alabama. It's just make sence an it is bugging me!
  21. I don't see how it could scrae youI haev been doing this since I was 11 I am 13 now. I think it is fun.
  22. Get ots turntables its free. And sorry about spelling error. Try stairway to heaven backwards. Its the easiest ot hear it backwards.
