  1. Happy belated/shared birthday
  2. Thanks, everyone! I love the little dragon and the cake with daisies and polka dots. I'm off to see if I can change my age back to 30...at least on the forums
  3. This calls for a lyrical interlude Baby's getting anxious, the hours getting late The night is almost over, she can't wait Oh, things are complicating, my love is in her hands And there's no more waiting, she understands The plaster's gettin' harder and my love is perfection A token of my love for her collection, her collection Plaster caster, grab a hold of me faster And if you wanna see my love, just ask her And my love is the plaster And yeah, shes the collector She wants me all the time to inject her The plaster's gettin' harder and my love is perfection A token of my love for her collection Plaster caster, plaster caster Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster And if you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her Go on, ask her The plaster's gettin' harder and my love is perfection A token of my love for her collection, her collection Plaster caster, plaster caster Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster If you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her Plaster caster, plaster caster She wants my love to last her, last her, last her And she calls me by the name of master, master Plaster caster, plaster caster Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster If you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her Plaster caster, plaster caster Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster And if you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her Plaster caster, plaster caster
  4. The One I Loved Back Then ~ George Jones I stopped off at the Quicksack for some beer and cigarettes The old man took my money as he stared at my Corvette He said, I had one just like her son, a 1963 'Til the man down at the bank took her from me Oh, she was hotter than a two dollar pistol She was the fastest thing around Long and lean every young man's dream She turned every head in town She was built and fun to handle Son I'm glad that you dropped in She reminds me of the one I loved back then Then I handed him my keys and said, here take her for a spin The old man scratched his head, then he looked at me and grinned He said son you just don't understand it ain't the car I want It's the brunette in your 'vette that turns me on I had one that was hotter than a two dollar pistol She was the fastest thing around Long and lean every young man's dream She turned every head in town She was built and fun to handle Son I'm glad that you dropped in She reminds me of the one I loved back then Lord she was hotter than a two dollar pistol She was the fastest thing around Long and lean every young man's dream She turned every head in town She was built and fun to handle Son I'm glad that you dropped in She reminds me of the one I loved back then She reminds me of the one I loved back then
  5. Glad you're peppier, Peaches And YAY for going to the mall solo, Jen! You'll have to report back and let me know what that's like. I haven't been to the mall by myself since...2005? Well, 2004 if you count the time the first munchkin was growing inside me
  6. Our normal last frost of the season is around the first of April. Here we are in the last few days of the month, and there is a frost - nay, a freeze warning tonight. So, not very hot right now. I suspect it will be 80 before the end of the week, though
  7. Yum, naan! Speedy recovery to you, Katie. I hope they give you small pills
  8. Most of our Japanese are hibachi-type places, but they offer sushi as well. There are a couple that are more sushi than hibachi. But I kinda tend to lump them together. And I really need to get my sis or husband to take me to one of them soon, because they refuse to eat Japanese food most of the time. Generally will only go with me if I'm pregnant or it's a holiday Come to think of it, they're the same way with Thai and Indian...hmmm...I need friends with more eclectic taste in food. Y'all wanna fly in for a girl's night out next week?
  9. Oh man, we have sushi out the yin-yang here. All really good. A few Thai places, too. For a relatively small city, the dining choices are excellent. Dude, I wonder if I could manage Thai, Indian and Japanese all in one week? Hmmm....my birthday is coming up
  10. Our local Indian place offers fennel seeds and mishri after your meal. Only I didn't know it was called mishri until now And Frank Zappa said that without deviation, progress is not possible
  11. Dude, your birthday will easily last into my birthday ...and beyond. A Very Merry Unbirthday to all of you! :raisesglass:
  12. Okay, so I've made a trip to the Brown Derby International Wine Center. Grabbed a bottle of Newcastle, but then saw that this was on sale for $2.50. Just then the beer guy walked past and said if I liked brown ale, I should try this stuff. So I took it as a sign and grabbed one to try. It's really yummy. So good that I'm not even drinking it cold...and it's better a bit warm anyway (never thought I'd be saying that). And not something I'd drink all the time, but will be nice in the winter. I might head back and buy a couple pints to put back for cooler weather Got a couple other treats, so will update with my thoughts later. And will probably pick up something else when I go back, so still open for suggestions. Am thinking about a beer I'd never have considered in the past: chocolate stout. Am thinking Beer + Chocolate = Love Can you tell I'm at the bottom of the bottle?
  13. Patchwork Quilt Written by Warren Haynes in memory of Jerry Garcia, and played with Phil & Friends and The Dead. I never knew you But then who really did? If you were at all like me You managed to keep yourself hid A patchwork quilt of a life Memories embroidered On your soul So please forgive me For putting you in my song But the spirit she moves me In fact she pushes me along It's a patchwork quilt of a life Can't stop the river Just let it roll We were at Jones Beach When we got the word Saddest sound that I ever heard The bluest note that nobody could play Ravens sang with us that night on the stage Tears of sadness, tears of rage But nobody spoke, we all felt old And in the way So walk beside me Or above me, I don't know These days it sure seems I'm lost where ever I go God, how could you, I heard someone say And what do we do with our lives now anyway? Now that our North Star can no longer be found But there's a banjo moon in a tie-dyed sky Hippies dance and babies cry Church bells ring as a silver-haired angel looks down And the blood of his music runs through the veins of our guitars Bright lights, Dark Star I never knew you But then who really did If you were at all like me You managed to keep yourself hid
  14. I'm bumping for suggestions, since the tenth anniversary of my 21st is approaching and I'd like to celebrate with a 6-pack (or two) of something yummy. Since posting on this thread, I've tried Rising Moon (spring brew from the Blue Moon folks) and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The Rising Moon is really limey and yummy, Sierra Nevada is veeeery hoppy - almost too much, but good when I'm in the mood for it. I've had people suggest Harp lager, Newcastle, or some sort of hefeweizen (open to suggestions on brand). A friend suggested a nice Black & Tan with dinner...but I'm not a Guinness fan at all Mostly, I like lagers and ales. I'm thinking something a little sweet wouldn't be a bad thing.
  15. Jason Castro is so pretty...too bad he's about as dumb as a box of rocks
  16. How cool is that? And it's already on YouTube: They also played dominoes back at the hotel and recorded a video in their spare time
  17. Willie usually starts things off with Whiskey River: http://forum.songfacts.com/showtopic.php?tid/144455/ Sometimes he closes with it too. Man, it's been way to long since I've seen him live...
  18. Sprinkle some baking soda on the carpet, let it sit a while (or maybe rub it in a bit?) and then hoover it back up. Will help with the smell. And definitely beat that guy's a$$ when you're done
  19. Can you imagine the deep doo-doo this man would have been in had they not found the rings? [smaller]I have an anniversary band [/smaller]
