  1. "Survivor" by Destiny's Child and "Me" by Paula Cole!
  2. Hey, is someone talking about Country music on Songfacts? I felt my ears ringing! A couple of songs you might look into: Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle Because You Love Me - Jo Dee Messina Through the Years - Kenny Rogers (The last two are not father/daughter specific but are still good songs.) I might be stretching it on these two further suggestions: Home by Alan Jackson (dedicated to his parents) "Then They Do" by Trace Adkins I'll post some more if I think of them. Merry Christmas!
  3. Was that on Kazaa Lite? Thanks in advance. PS Welcome back!
  4. OK, for all of those that use the peer to peer programs can you search for a song for me and tell me if you can download it. The song is the ACOUSTIC version of Stings "Message in a Bottle". I had a friend search using the kazza lite and he never found it. The closest song he found was the live version. Anyway, I want that song BADLY but I dont want to install a program if the song is not there. Thanks in advance.
  5. From my search it is actually 'The Sacred Love Tour'. You can listen to sound samples of the album of the same name by clicking HERE. The first song I would try is called "the book of my life". It starts out with an 'Arabic' sound.
  6. Bruce Hornsby "Gonna be some changes Made" Gonna be some changes made Can't keep on doing what I've been doing these days Look in the mirror I see clouds of rain Gotta face it all, gotta get myself straight Gonna be some changes, some changes made Can't keep on doing what I've been doing these days Better figure out something Things are looking grave Gonna be some changes, changes, changes made Up in front for all to see Graceful like a bumblin' fool Then I thought I felt slip from my mouth a little drool Maybe no one noticed it On my mind heavily it weighed I saw two people snickering I said "there needs to be some changes made"
  7. Hi all, thanks again for the suggestions! Megan, I really love your suggestion of The New Radicals "You Get What You Give." It is really upbeat and great song to work with. Thanks! MrClick: It's NEVER too late to make a suggestion! This is an ongoing 'work in progress' and will last a long time-hopefully! ::
  8. I'm not 'into' jazz but I will second anything suggested by Bluesboy... he knows his stuff! ::
  9. This is a bit long overdue but THANK YOU EVERYONE for your suggestions! I LOVE THEM ALL! Bluesboy... do you actually listen to all of the songs you suggested or do you know how to use GOOGLE better than me. Your recommendations were quite eclectic! Anyway, I LOVE the song "The Impossible Dream"! Peaches... I bought that Cd you mentioned and surprisingly one of the songs on that CD was also being played on the radio as I drove to meet the person that is in charge of the academy. It's only a 'coincidence'... yeah right! :: Jenny... God luv ya for mentioning 'I believe I can Fly'. That makes up for mentioning Corey Hart. I used to listen to his music! Not quite sure if that is a 'manly' thing to admit to or not. Uncle Joe... I definately think Frank Sinatra is a good start. The songs you suggested are really good too. I had difficulty findind sound clips for 'High Hopes' but once found, I think I could put that song to use as well! Marc... Yeah buddy, all I need is one child that appreciates good rock and roll and that song DREAMS is IN!!! boo yah!! Scott it's understandable that 'happy and uplifting' is not your gig. Ron, I intially discounted your suggestion, but believe it or not the founder of this 'theraputic riding academy' was herself in a wheelchair for close to ten years, after a stroke, and had to learn to walk again. So YES, I think 'Walk this Way' could be used under the right circumstances. By the way, if anyone is an Albertson's shopper and uses the 'Albertsons Preferred Card' please PM me! The organization that I am volunteering at is non profit and through 'Albertsons Community' efforts you can easily add the place that I am volunteering at to your Albertsons card and 2% of your purchases will be donated to this organization. (Confused?? So am I! : This is a good organization. I know it from my heart and soul. Even my mom-a registered nurse said that the founder of this academy was 'a strong woman' to simply be alive after a massive stroke. Most stroke victims suffer paralysis of one sort or another. To actually be walking and talking is another thing. She really does good work and I am happy to take part of it.
  10. Hey guys, one of my recent endeavors was to volunteer for a non profit organization that helps physically and mentally disabled children and young adults. They do this through 'horse therapy' (hippotherapy). Yeah, I too am new to this concept but I saw it first hand and it is very good stuff! It is an amazing thing to see a wheelchair bound person come up with the determination to leave their wheelchair, and get on a horse! Anyway, I need some happy songs about determination, overcoming obstacles, that I can use in a slideshow. Eventually, I would like to create slideshows of the persons horse riding therapy sessions... from beginning to end. I just need some music to put in the background. The only song I can think of is "REACH" by Gloria Estefan. Have any other suggestions? I know you do! ::
  11. That song is Babylon by David Gray. CLICK HERE FOR LYRICS
  12. For one, F9/11 is NOT a 'documentary'. If wildlife documetaries interest you, then it does not get any better than the hatred between lions and hyenas as filmed in... Eternal Enemies: Lions and Hyenas. It is a brutal thing to watch. But to make it easier, just think that this documentary was filmed in 1992 and that all of the animals which suffered in during the filming of this movie are already dead. ::
  13. Kenny Chesney is Country or did you not know?? Did you even bother to follow the links and listen the song "Me and Emily" It may or may not 'fit' but at least take the time to listen to the lyrics before you say 'YUCK'! ::
  14. OK I just checked out your website... and saw EMILY... OMG... you must be new here because the song, "ME and EMILY" by Rachel Proctor actually caused me to create a NEW THREAD HERE. Are you really 12 years old and expecting a child? ( I was just clicking on highlights through your link)? Anyway, click on the links.. that Rachel Proctor song may do you a world of good. ??
  15. OK if you know "There goes my life" by Kenny Chesney, you probably know 'Backseat of a Greyhound Bus' by Sara Evans. ?? I'll try to think of more. Right now it is too late in the evening to come up with more suggestions.
  16. I know what you mean Windy... I recently fell in love with Rachel Proctor's tune... and during a 12 hour graveyard shift at work I kept shifting between the two country radio stations in this area, and was really dismayed at the amount of 'overplay' of certain songs.... most overplayed at the moment is Tim McGraws 'Live Like You Were Dying'. So basically, in the course of one 12 shift and two radio stations I have 24 hours of current air play on 'country' radio stations right? Well, I only heard Rachel Proctor's song ONCE... and even then the DJ gave a special plug that this song was 'really amazing'. I really hope to see this song move up in popularity. I honestly wouldnt mind if 'this' song was overplayed to death because I can't get enough of it. :: .
  17. OMG have you heard Rachel Proctor's song "Me and Emily"? Click Here to listen I have to say this is the best most 'refreshing' country song out there now! It deserves to go to #1 but unfortunately, I think the 'powers that be' will continue to overplay Tim McGraws, lame 'Live Like You Were Dying'. Rachel Proctor's song is am amazing blend of voice, lyrics, and rhythmn. I LOVE IT! Feel free to hijack this thread because I really want to know how many 'country' fans are out there. -Brian
  18. "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival is a popular song (remade by many artists). Here are the lyrics: Left a good job in the city Workin' for the man ev'ry night and day And I never lost one minute of sleepin' Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been Big wheel keep on turnin' Proud Mary keep on burnin' Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis Pumped a lot of tain down in New Orleans But I never saw the good side of the city 'Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen Big wheel keep on turnin' Proud Mary keep on burnin' Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river If you come down to the river Bet you gonna find some people who live You don't have to worry 'cause you have [if you got] no money People on the river are happy to give Big wheel keep on turnin' Proud Mary keep on burnin' Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river
  19. Your Welcome! I'm always glad to help out when I can! :: The ratings go from low=1 star to high=5 stars. Back when we had a vote on whether to keep the star ratings or get rid of them, I voted to get rid of them, for many reasons. I think everyone deserves Five stars! :: Anyway, if you rated me one star or five stars, it doesnt matter, it is the thought that counts right! Stick around this web site is a lot of fun! -Brian
  20. Congrats! Here are a few links: Another thread discussing Songs Written For Children [CLICK HERE]. Another thread discussing songs, and a little more info on slideshow presentations. CLICK HERE In that thread Grammiel sent me a private indicating that he uses the software program MemoriesToTV which is found on this web site: PictureToTV.com [click here]. If you have a DVD burner on your computer you should really consider using this program to preserve photos of your grand daughter after she is born. If you dont have a DVD burner, there are tons of other slideshow programs that are easy to use. One of the programs is SwishPix [CLICK HERE FOR EXAMPLES] or SIMPLE STAR. Basically there are a lot of ways to be creative and present your Grand Daughters photos to others! Congrats again! -Brian
  21. Short, sweet and to the point.... gotta love it!!
  22. Hi Chris, Welcome to SongFacts. Your are very kind to offer your assistance! Thank You! Have you thought of submitting any facts and lyrics through the SongFacts home page? Currently, there are only six songs by Rammstein in the database: Der Meister, Du Hast, Laichzeit, Mutter, Rammstein, and Sonne. Only one of those songs has the English translation-Mutter. Rammstein only has the German lyrics (no English translation), and all of the other songs have no lyrics at all. If you have lyrics, translations, and/or facts to add about Rammstein, you should add them to the SongFacts database! That way the information is already there when people search for it. If you don't know where to start submitting information... CLICK HERE. Thanks again for your help!
  23. Funny thing Cosmosis... I was going to tell Grammiel to PM you to see if you had any answers before I saw your post. I did go to that link you posted and tried one converter, however, it says that WMA files that are DRM protected can not be converted. Lately, those WMA files that I downloaded off of MusicMatch have been driving me crazy!! A few months ago, I uninstalled the Music Match player, and went with a previous-more liked-version of the same MM player. I tried to play those WMA files it wouldn't do it! It required the most recent version of MM to play it. I did manage to burn those WMA files onto a CD which played fine in my truck CD player, but now that whole CD skips! COASTER!! Even now, when I play those WMA files in WINAMP (Thanks, again, for that suggestion! ) those songs dont play right. It is like everytime one of those WMA comes one the player 'hiccups' for lack of a better word. At this point I dont have a whole lot invested in WMA files, so I can always go to the Russian site and download MP3's from AllofMP3.com. (I am starting to wish I did that originally! ) Anyway, Grammiel, if you find a way to convert your WMA files to MP3 let me know. Grammiel, would you mind letting me know what program you are using to create your slideshow? I am looking for a slideshow programs that allows you to 'synch' photos along with lyrics in the song. So far the only programs I know that do that are PowerPoint, and Swishmax (from Swishzone.com). I played with Windows Movie Maker for less than 20 minutes and thought that this program could do it but it seemed like it would be time consuming. Thanks for listening! ::
  24. OMG... I didn't know the 'terrible two's' were that bad! ::
