  1. It has been noted that the last lyric posted was "Undertow" by Tool. (Correctly guessed by Cosmosis) To keep the game going, here's an old Zeppelin tune. First one to guess the correct song title wins a cupie doll and a box of Little Debbies....and has to post a new one. "On we sweeep with threshing oar. Our only goal will be the western shore."
  2. It sure is the real David Gilmour. He has his picture right there, playing the piano.
  3. Aside from those "Goofy Greats" albums from K-Tel that they would advertise on TV a hundred times a day, I think the first "real" album I ever purchased was "Band on the Run" by Paul McCartney AND Wings. If I'm not mistaken, "Band on the Run" cost me $3.99 at Woolworth's. And I think the second I bought was "Frampton Comes Alive" (I forget who did this album, though, and I forget the price...$7.99 maybe).
  4. Honorable Mention goes out to Elton John, Rik Emmett, and Rik Ocasek.
  5. I thought we already had this sexually explicit conversation on another thread. Let's not start it again. Thanks.
  6. Does it have to be Motley Crue? Are there any other bands that could substitute? Motley Crue's okay, but I don't have any of their albums.
  7. I have no children (that I know of), but I have two nephews who, when in my car, get steady, heavy doses of the Stones, Kinks, Kiss, Cheap Trick, and The Who, and occasionally some Guns 'N Roses. They listen to other rap and hardcore, and that kind of stuff, but they are quickly becoming Stonesheads. They have no choice. Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be rappers.
  8. CARL, DO YOU HAVE A F***IN' CAMERA IN MY CAR, OR WHAT??
  9. WINDY: My brother just got the SARSFest DVD from Toronto, from July of 2003. I didn't see it yet, but it only has about six or eight songs by the Stones. It also includes a couple from Rush, AC/DC, Guess Who, Flaming Lips, Isley Brothers, Sass Jordan, the Have Love Will Travel Band (Dan Ackroyd and Jim Belushi). And if you look real close, you might be able to see me about 0.5 miles from the stage, dead center (LOL). It was great though. It was hotter than the devil's buttcrack, but the music was great. AC/DC was phenomenal. I wouldn't say they were better than the Stones, but a couple of my Stoneshead friends said they were. You might wanna check it out. I think my brother paid 16.95 for it.
  10. Mom and Dad were into the '50's type stuff --- Elvis, Sha Na Na, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Mom was into the Carpenters for a while. But now she likes the Stones and the Kinks...she had no choice. But I think Mom's favorite song is "Open Arms" by Journey.
  11. I'm dying to see 'Harold and Kumar', but I'll probably wait till it comes out on video. My Spidey sense tells me it could be one of those diamonds in the rough, like 'Half Baked' and 'Super Troopers'.
  12. Meat Puppet....very appropriate name for a new resident at the Big House.
  13. I just like to play "Iron Man" over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... EDIT: -- This post was actually supposed to go under 'Love Making Songs', but I guess it could work for both.
  14. Good list, Ant, good list. I can tell that you're like me, that you are a fan of a band's more obscure tunes - not just the ones you hear on the radio a million times. My top fifteen Stones songs are some of the slightly obscure: (1) Hand of Fate (2) One Hit (to the Body) (3) Sympathy for the Devil (live version off "Flashpoint") (4) Gimme Shelter (5) Monkey Man (6) Respectable (7) Dance Little Sister (8) Star Star (9) Rocks Off (10) Stray Cat Blues (11) Can't You Hear Me Knocking (12) You Can't Always Get What You Want (13) When the Whip Comes Down (14) Jumpin' Jack Flash (15) Sister Morphine Honorable Mention going to: Some Girls, Neighbors, Salt of the Earth, Paint It Black, Out of Control, You Got the Silver, Before They Make Me Run. Here's my top fifteen Beatles songs (just in case you're interested), many of which might also be considered slightly obscure: (1) Let It Be (2) I Saw Her Standing There (3) Maxwell's Silver Hammer (4) Help (5) Don't Let Me Down (6) Helter Skelter (7) Nowhere Man (8) Octopus's Garden (9) Rocky Raccoon (10) Ballad of John and Yoko (11) Taxman (12) You Never Give Me Your Money (13) While My Guitar Gently Weeps (14) Come Together (15) The Night Before Honorable Mention: Golden Slumbers, Norwegian Wood, Across the Universe, Get Back, Happiness is a warm Gun, All You Need is Love, Magical Mystery Tour. Talk to ya later. Enjoy the lasagna.
  15. Great line, Jrowns. I bet you pick up a lotta hot babes with this one. If you have anymore good ones, please share them with the rest of us.
  16. BEATLEANT: (In my best movie gangster voice): I mean you and your family no disrespect, sir. Myself and my family deeply apologize if we misled you with our intentions. I would be greatly appreciative if you would accept my peace offering of a homemade lasagna and two bags of gummi bears. And I do commend your appreciation for the finer things in life ("Exile on Main Street"). But you gotta admit that the album is absolutely loaded with great tunes. It's only overrated compared to other Stones' albums. If not for the ones we both mentioned, "Exile" WOULD BE considered one of the greatest albums of all time And, in my opinion, "Sticky Fingers" IS the greatest album of all time. It has no less than four of the top 100 songs in rock history ("Brown Sugar", "Bitch", "Wild Horses", Can't You Hear Me Knocking"). And nearly every song on it is pretty awesome ("Sway", "Sister Morphine", "Dead Flowers", among others). I don't know if you've ever seen any of these songs played live, but they are amazing...all of them. ("Sway" I never saw live, but I would love to.) The influence and smooth guitar playing that Mick Taylor added to that group truly made them the "World's Greatest Rock 'N' Band". If there was any doubt up until that point, their string of albums with Mick Taylor on lead should have eliminated all doubt. When Mick Taylor quit (the putz), they did lose some of that great blues ability, but to this day they still use that same blues influence in their songs. They've never truly gone "poppy", and that's why they could even be considered a band with a cult following. They make records to please themselves and their legions of hardcore fans, and they still do a pretty damn good job of it. They're supposed to open another tour in the spring of 2005; I will go see that one, too. Rock on, my Beatle-lovin' friend.
  17. "Vanilla Sky" sucked the left one. "Minority Report" sucked the right one. "Eyes Wide Shut" sucked the one in the middle. And "Blair Witch Project" was pretty stupid, too.
  18. Again, I have to give an Honorable Mention to "Alien Nation" and "Super Troopers". Two hilarious movies.
  19. "Actually", I've never seen the movie (yes, pun intended). But if his soul objective was to "get girls", with all those corn-fed farm girls out there, Nebraska's not a bad place to start.
  20. I'm a huge Stones fans (there is no substitute). However, I agree that "Exile" is a bit overrated only because so many people say that it's the Stones' BEST album. I think they have a few better ones from start to finish (e.g. 'Sticky Fingers', 'Let It Bleed' 'Some Girls'). But there are more than 'a few great tracks' on "Exile". You forgot about "Rocks Off", "Loving Cup", "Shine a Light", "Ventilator Blues", "Happy", "Sweet Black Angel", and "Torn and Frayed". I think I'm still missing a couple, but you get the picture. It's a great mixture of hard rock and the blues that the Stones themselves were reared on. I absolutely love this album, and I make it a point to listen to it in its entirety every couple of months or so. I recommend everybody do the same. Rock on!
  21. I just want to send out an Honorable Mention for Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, Roger Taylor of Queen, and Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones.
