  1. Young, Alan (Character actor. On TV, "Wilbur Post" to "Mr. Ed," the talking horse. At the movies, "Filby," Scottish shopkeeper-friend of George, the inventor of "The Time Machine.")
  2. What was one of names Sonny & Cher rejected before using their real names? More Than A Feeling.
  3. A great singing voice, but lousy pitch. Name a singer who sounds like that.
  4. Granted. Trouble is, Japanese drive on the wrong side of the road, write left to right, then up to down with Chinese characters. Integrating this population will be very difficult. (Then there are Japanese toilets and food preferences!) I wish that people would see that a pile of old tires on land is the same as an oil on water.
  5. In The Midnight Hour - Wilson Pickett
  6. Top Ten Pre-game Interview Cliches By Coaches 10. We want to get on the scoreboard first 9. We'll be taking it one play at a time. 8. Half this game is 90% mental. 7. Sports gets you ready for The Game of Life! 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.
  7. Granted. You are now in the breakaway state of Ossetia, with the Georgian and Russian forces set to obliterate the town you're staying in! I wish the FBI would take a closer look at Mr. Plain's ties to that Alaska separatist group.
  8. The Top Ten Political Cliches 10-Read my lips. No new taxes. 9- I've journeyed into the heartland of America. 8- It's time government became responsive to the needs of the people. 7- I am not a crook ! 6- Those are "revenue enhancements," not taxes! 5- 4- 3- 2- 1-
  9. Granted. The First One, Mao Tse-Tung thanks you for re-creating The People's Republic of (Chinese) People! I wish people wouldn't try to play God. She's ROTFLHAO as it is!
  10. "Walkin' After Midnight" performed by Eva Cassidy.
  11. Granted. But it's only day #3 of "Survivor Tierra del Fuego"! I wish that the Klingons would appear to end that European war triggered by the bombing of the CERN facility.
  12. I'm sure that 55 degrees Fahrenheit/13 degrees Celsius wouldn't be considered cold at all. True/False, depending on what's going on that day. You love "kicking your way through autumn leaves."
  13. Granted. Lutefish-flavored gummy bears are in fashion this year! I wish for Kim Jon-Il to find out what awaits him after his "collapse" in Pyongyang. On future European wars: Jamie: I wish we had time to bury them fellas. Josey Wales: To hell with them fellas. Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms.
  14. Disregard this post. Sports contracts only per appearance/performance isn't something I'm familiar with, though Baseball, Rassling, and the Roller Derby could operate that way?
  15. Granted. Now there's a European war on, with everybody doing the "ethnic cleansing boogie"! Is that a glitterball or one of them Neutron bombs up there? I wish Japanese would find another food fad, instead of eating their way through the world's declining Yellowfin Tuna. population.
  16. A while back, there was a security problem in Iraq. The native cleaning staff was taking thumb drives, etc, and they could be found at the local flea market within a few hours. Connect that little incident with a story about a number of virus-carrying portable recording drives that was eventually sorted out. Add a tale of malware being spread via botnets, migrating to portable recording/storage devices, and things start to look less like digital Eden than digital Deadwood City. I have considered thumbdrives, and my tech friend used his a while back to pick up a large software update file off my system. (I have broadband access, he doesn't.) As for wireless, I remember reading a long-ago article about the FBI getting the goods on a Mafia don by tapping his portable (pre-cell phone era!) conversations with his soldiers. Use technology with care; Ivan the Terrible Russian Mafia boss may add you to his link of foolish American puppets in his less-than-legal independent enterprise. One final thing: Wireless requires a powered receiver, which requires a battery, which may prove a kind of trap should a tornado take out your local power grid for a few weeks. Increasing complexity also isn't exactly Green, now is it? But what do I know? After all, Hawaii is an island state, far from aid, which was underscored when an earthquake knocked out power long enough to exhaust the batteries powering cell phone towers. Some radio and TV stations had on site generators, but not everyone had a battery-powered TV handy. The local telephone company continues to run an ad featuring a 911 call placed by a VOI customer after this earthquake. (Silence, of course) Landlines may not be sexy/cutting edge, but they still work during a local power outage. Yes, I have hand crank-charging flashlights and a supply of commonly needed batteries, too. End of trailing-edge tech rant.
  17. "House, M.D.", especially if I'd been subjected to a lecture/demostration/interrogation by "Monk"! "Red Dwarf" or "Dr. Who"?
  18. "Zardoz" (I've heard about it, but keep missing when it plays on SciFi or Comedy channels.)
