  1. The Lizzie McGuire theme song - If you Believe We've got a picture perfect plan we've got you fooled Cause' We only do the best we can and sometimes we make it sometimes we fake it and we get one step closer each and every day when we figure it out our own way
  2. That is FUNNY! Rolling Stone magazine is to music what the National Enquirer is to the scientific community! -but someday I'll tell ya what I "really" think of them
  3. The reason I bring this up is that on July 5th, 2004 50 years to the day after it was recorded, media and fans will converge on Memphis for a blowout celebration to commemorate the song "That's All Right", which has been labeled by the city as the tune that started the musical and cultural phenomenon known as rock 'n' roll. Do you agree? My vote goes to "Rock around the clock" By Bill Haley and the comets!

    Worst film?

TP's Stephen King thread gave me this thought... What's (in your opinion) the worst film? Attack of the killer tomatoes? <Yawn> Anaconda really sucked. Jaws 3 :sleepy: All the Look who's talking sequels.. and far, far too many sequels to even mention!
  6. Hey EGG! Glad to see you pop your gold-dome into the board! Some people have missed ya around here..."some people". :: Stay cool man Mike
  7. Today FEEDBAC K~ by RUSH is in stores!! Now I know you're all just as excited about this as I am !! :: :: :: :: It's eight songs that highly influence Geddy, Alex and Neil in there early listening/practicing days. Songs by The Who, Yardbirds, Cream and Buffalo Springfield. (I'll be picking my copy up tonight!) *Now... What's your favorite band? What songs would you like to see them cover and record? Have a great day Mike
  8. As a moderator I have only removed a couple of posts in the last 7 months. This is a great bunch of members here, everyone has fun and everyone has a little bit different interpretation of offensive. I go by the rule "when in Rome, do as the Romans" what might be tolerated in one place may not be tolerated in another. I would like to say I remember a post by Carl (one of our leaders) the man behind the fish, regarded this site being viewed by school children doing research for projects, so I figure I wouldn't want anything on here a 13 year old would find offensive (in todays culture this can be difficult to gauge) or something written about someone that *they* might find offensive. I am always open to correction, I consider it an honor as well as a responsibility to be a forum moderator. Mike FYI What are the rules? 9. For me it is no contest! JAWS is by far his greatest accomplishement, -why do I think this? Because he overcame huge, huge obsticals and ultimately surrendered himself to the films cast leads (Shaw,Schnieder and Dreyfus) to keep this film *afloat*. The budget ran over, the studio brass was about to close the book on Spielberg and bring in a veteran director to *bail* them out of this perceived waste of film. What actually develope on screen is pure magic though. Another lesson in acting/directing style overcoming the lack of special effects. The shark appears in only a few minutes of the film time(due to technical failures), but what happens around that is what makes this such a great film, what you do not see. The way these three drive the pace of the film is rare. The way they represent the basics of personality traits is unique and phenominal! This film deserves even more credit than it has received in the last 28 years.
  10. Hey, a question I can actually answer? The administrators collect data and upload approx. once a month and send out a newsletter to those that requested it when they signed up to this site. Mike
  11. How about John? Not as much as others like King, I simply love "A Time to kill" and "The Client", and what about the "Firm". All very well adapted to film!
  12. Unbreakable ~M. Night Shyamalan M. Night Shyamalan is excellent. "It's allright to be afraid, David, because this part won't be like a comic book. Real life doesn't fit into little boxes that were drawn for it. " Samuel L. Jackson is great!!

One Little Victory - Rush A certain measure of innocence Willing to appear naive A certain degree of imagination A measure of make-believe A certain degree of surrender To the forces of light and heat A shot of satisfaction In a willingness to risk defeat Celebrate the moment As it turns into one more Another chance at victory Another chance to score The measure of the moment In a difference of degree Just one little victory A spirit breaking free One little victory The greatest act can be One little victory A certain measure of righteousness A certain amount of force A certain degree of determination Daring on a different course A certain amount of resistance To the forces of the light and love A certain measure of tolerance A willingness to rise above One little victory One little victory One little victory One little victory Celebrate the moment As it turns into one more Another chance at victory Another chance to score The measure of the moment In a difference of degree Just one little victory A spirit breaking free One little victory The greatest act can be One little victory The greatest act can be One little victory The greatest act can be One little victory One little victory One little victory One little victory One little victory Just one little victory Or... High Hopes - Pink Floyd Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our troughts strayed constandly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begin Along the long road and on down the causeway Do they still meet there by the cut There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps Running before time took our dreams away Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground To a life consumed by slow decay The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The night of wonder Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide At a higher altitude with flag unfuried We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world Eneumbered forever by desire and ambition There?s a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we?ve been so many time The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

  18. Somedays I wander the streets and feel the cold wind, pushing me back and I know I have to keep pressing on Under my breath I mutter a word that I kept to myself, now nobody can say if they are feeling the same as I do Mental images projecting on the screen in my mind, they show me all the people I cannot be in a silouette I don't know why I say some of the things I say, sometimes I question my place in society but then I don't Show me a pair of dice and a place to throw them, I'll show you a person I don't really know who I am Smoke rises off the city skyscrapers that appear beyond, I grasp at reality and yet somewhere there is none I'll take care of business today and I won't even complain, I stop for a moment and say hello, hello to the stranger
  19. You know Tybalt, I think I remember hearing Bible too, I'm ganna have to give that one another listen now.

    guitar fest, Dallas

Any word on whether this was filmed?
  24. Ant, you're correct. The second one is a bit intricate. The answer is Gerald Scarfe then Jane Asher, Paul McCartney, Peter Asher and finally Gordon Waller (of Peter and Gordon)
  25. What a great film. Something can be said for the generation gap and the importance elder people can have on youth and vice-versa. Duvall and Caine deliver outstandind performances! They could have also called this film - "Show me the way"!
