  1. The only thing I can figure on the CD is that the particular song (file) either is corrupted or contaminated and there are probably no surface anomalies associated with the CD.
  2. No, only the provided snippet. Should I go download the version from the album in question?
  3. The one photo I've seen under google images shows a female Afro-American person. The voice sounds similar to the singer with the Thompson Twins or other bands from the 80s with the same sound. Very Euro - style music with the steady, machine - like drum beat, little bit of simple keyboard work, etc. The kind of music where a band member might have one side of their head shaved, the other side long and colored red or something. I know for a fact it's not Hank Williams Jr.!
  4. Thanks for all your responses. This is a bit strange. Based on my observations of Farin's excellent knowledge regarding music, bands, etc, I now question the accuracy of the band / person being of German origin. Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks again
  5. Is anyone familiar with the band Q. Lazarus. I find very little on them other than they are / were a German band. I have no idea if that is accurate. I just listened to a song of theirs titled "Goodbye Horses" which was very enjoyable. They are credited with another song titled "Heaven" which I would like to locate. Any ideas? Thanks.
  6. Just went and listened to the song from the Echoes album at amazon. Very clear. No negative comments; only praise about the selections and song to song segue.
  7. I saw reference at an Aussie site where the person talked about your "young boy who sees aliens" video and he spoke as though the complete music video was animated. He really liked it and could not recall the same info as you.
  8. I just downloaded it and it's crystal clear. I noticed it came from the album A Saucerful of Secrets. Should be the same. Wasn't Echoes just a "best of" compilation album?
  9. This file (I Love You by Climax Blues Band) is available for the next seven days only and may be used only for analytical and educational purposes only. :happybanana: http://download.yousendit.com/8D25A47669D51AE5
  10. I always thought it was either an anti death penalty composition or a metaphoric attempt at his looking forward to being released from Hell on Earth. Considering the time - frame, I think it was the first. I really like The Band's cover.
  11. The Dance - Garth Brooks Shannon - Henry Gross 100 gazillion others
  12. What a bunch of good songs. I would hope, keeping with the theme, you could squeeze something in by Bill Haley and His/The Comets.
  13. Hi RonJon. Listened to the song today (after 30+ years) and really appreciated it. It's impressive how good that song is considering the techno gap. Probably the same with surfers of that era as well. Ah, the days of great concerts for little or no money. Calgon........
  14. Laurie, I owe you big time. You nailed it. Thank you so much! Brad, thank you as well. I can now sleep tonight. To all who risked listening to my audio, I apolgize and you can now stop shaking your head. Thanks again :happybanana:
  15. Nope. I do appreciate your help. You're right about the song; an absolute classic. The song I'm recalling was really heavy on the guitars, organ, etc. All playing the same notes in unison. The "lyrics" are near soprano in pitch performed by one person. Instead of doodle, the sound is more like pronouncing the word yodel. Yodel doe, yodel doe, yodel doe, yodel doe, yodel doe, yodel doe, yodel doe, doe. Ahh, ah, ahh, ah, ahh, ah ah ah! At this point, the metal - like music plays. I now submit an embarrassing, self recording of me yodeling, AHing, and playing air guitar and ghost organ. It should be really entertaining. The file, though short in time (approx 30 sec) is about 4.8mb. I guess it has something to do with the bit rate which I know nothing about. Upon completion of listening to this "masterpiece", please destroy and disavow any knowledge of its existence. http://download.yousendit.com/1E50D48B677F87C1
  16. The possible and yet to be identified Mott the Hoople song I posted earlier. Someone please relieve this pain!
  17. I believe it was Mott the Hoople and the song was heavy on the instruments and the only "lyrics" I recall were along the line of (in sound only) "doodle ooh, doodle ooh, doodle ooh, doo..... then it would repeat itself. Bad description. Too many years and thought processes ago. Thanks folks.
  18. Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd Oxygene - Jean Michel Jarre
  19. Here's a tiny list" Mad World - Gary Jules Sacrifice - Sinead O' Connor Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World by both Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and Aselin Debison Roadhouse Blues - Crystal Method Fields of Gold - Eva Cassidy I leave it up to you for the originals:)
  20. I'll do that; thanks ryansgirl.
  21. Hi folks. I need help identifying a song. Probably performed by a female. The song is known to some as "Dana's" song from the Lifetime series "Strong Medicine". It was also featured in a show titled "Beautiful People" from the episode "Photo Finish". I've searched forums, etc. related to those two shows with no success. Here's some partial lyrics: "And so when the east wind blows, just follow where she goes, and let the music move your souls She dances on, fire and light, moves in circles with the wind..." Thank you.
  22. Those "lyrics" (And he told to the man, who walked down before, that if he.......). may be from someone other than Morrison. The person I'm trying to help feels the lyrics were accompanied by an acoustic guitar in the background and the song may have been from an older movie about Vietnam. Should be a 60s or early 70s song. Thanks again.
  23. Sometimes in concert, Morrison would recite verse as a lead in to a song. Does anyone remember a line that was similar to this? "And he told to the man, who walked down before, that if he.......". I could swear that I saw a concert (tv) where he did that as a long intro and then the band blasted into Light My Fire. If not that song, does anyone recall those words or something similar, with him sounding/being rather stoned (duh)? Thank you.
  24. Hi there melancholydemon. I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Samson. As you were fortunate to have shared all those years with Samson, he too was very lucky to have had your love. You've received some really nice suggestions from the good folks here at songfacts.com. You couldn't have come to a more caring bunch of people and I hope everthing works out for you. No doubt it will take some time and if you feel like talking or whatever, drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you. In the meantime, you have have our deepest condolences and we wish you nothing but the very best. Take care.
  25. I thought pretty much everyone was in agreement that the lyrics were indeed from Rogers and Hammerstein and also the lyrics were added to the end of a 60s/ 70s pop song such as Montego Bay, etc. Am I confused here? I could be after having just grilled a bunch of ribs outdoors in 70 degree temps. Be glad when it warms up. :happybanana:
