  1. Yeah, but I need Tony...you know my lust for him! We could keep this going by talking about our favorite episode or scene from the show. Just a thought....
  2. Ron, that is so cool!! And yes we need to keep the thread alive. We had in our showprep at the station that James Gandolfini is recovering from a minor surgery and doing good. Also that there will not be a Spranos movie as rumored. But I bet sometime there will be, fans want one!
  3. Move over, Stevie: Sheryl Crow is planning to join Fleetwood Mac. "We definitely have plans for collaborating in the future, and we'll see what happens," Crow tells Spinner. As to when fans might hear those collaborations, she says, "I think that's going to be next year." And what songs would she ideally like to perform onstage with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham? "I'd love to do 'The Chain' and 'Second Hand News,'" she says. "There's so many great songs that I absolutely love, and just to get to sing harmonies on them is going to be a thrill." For Crow, who is just beginning to tour in support of her recently released 'Detours' album, the opportunity to join the legendary group (and fill the shoes of Christine McVie, who retired from touring in 1998), is a chance to work with her close friend Nicks. Perhaps more important, it will help keep the band alive, as Nicks had previously gone on record as saying she was unwilling to carry on Fleetwood Mac without McVie, who had been one of the constants of the often-evolving group since she joined in the early '70s. According to Crow, Nicks has been a major influence in her life as an artist. "I love people that are not jaded or de-sensitized and that are still really into what they're doing and into growing as an artist, and that's her," Crow says. "She'd walk out and stand at the microphone, and I swear I was looking at a 20-year-old, because she just exudes this kind of sensual love for music."
  4. Thought of Bonnie Raitt and Nancy Wilson of Heart right off the bat. Both of these chicks kick it on the guitar and so does Susan Tedeschi. Going to look for youtube stuff... He Treats Your Daughter Mean ~ Susan Loves Sneakin' Up On You ~ Bonnie Magic Man ~ Nancy
  5. Good to know...just took you off my buddylist!
  6. Martin, now everyone will be IM-ing you!
  7. One that I sing in the shower, driving home if I hate listening to the radio or my CD player is Me and Bobby McGee, I've been singing that one for many years. I tend to break out into it when I've been drinking too. As for another one, that can change daily. Being I work in radio and hear music most of the day, sometimes I'll just sing a song that I love that I played on my show. I might be singing it as I lay in my bed trying to get to sleep. Depends on my mood which one I mihgt grasp on for the day. Yesterday it was Clapton's Tulsa Time... My mother says Im crazy, My baby calls me lazy, But Im gonna show them all this time cause you know I aint no fool and I dont need no more damn schoolin. I was born to just walk the line.
  8. I like a sweaty guy in the right place and the right time, know what I mean?? Keanu huh....you just never know....
  9. I hear ya Tim! The blood is trickling down my chin now....
  10. Crosy, Stills, & Nash 1969 1-"Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" (Stills) – 7:25 2-"Marrakesh Express" (Nash) – 2:39 3-"Guinnevere" (Crosby) – 4:40 4-"You Don't Have to Cry" (Stills) – 2:45 5-"Pre-Road Downs" (Nash) – 3:01 6-"Wooden Ships" (Crosby, Stills, Paul Kantner (uncredited)) – 5:29 7-"Lady of the Island" (Nash) – 2:39 8-"Helplessly Hoping" (Stills) – 2:41 9-"Long Time Gone" (Crosby) – 4:17 10-"49 Bye-Byes" (Stills) – 5:16 This album came to mind as soon as I saw the thread. Talk about a debut album that just blew you away. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Gram Nash a perfect blend of talent and amazing harmonies taking them to superstar status. This album would appeal to just about everyone. There was a unique blend of rock, folk, blues, and some jazz. You would find something on this album to enjoy, if not the whole album as I did, wanting to listen to it over and over again. Each one...Crosby, Stills, and Nash putting into the album their creative strengths. And it blended perfectly. With songs like "Helplessly Hoping" giving me chills, still to this day. This album was just the beginning of one of the best groups of the late 60's and 70's. They hit it right off the bat in 1969 with this album. It gave singer/songwriters a well deserved place with critics and fans alike and paved the way for more to follow in the 70's. I have to say this is the best debut album of classic rock history.
  11. Ray, I just never got Bryan Adams, something about him, I don't really care for his voice. I just think he went the safe route and opted for the pop sound to stay on the charts. And I am so biting my tongue on the Bruce is over-rated comment from Mickey. I may draw blood here!
  12. Actors who look like they smell bad! Colin Farrell What is it about otherwise handsome A-listers who endeavor to look smelly? It’s as though the effort it takes to look good on film is such a burden, they just give up in their off time. Take Colin Farrell. The greasy locks, the poorly groomed beard, the rumpled clothes — he sets the bar for stinky-chic awfully high. Colin’s infinite pack-a-day smoking habit — seriously, he’s always smoking a cigarette — only adds to the list of malodorous evidence. And it’s not like he’s always looked like a stink bomb. Just a few years back Colin sported the standard freshly showered look we all know and love, but it seems like the more successful he gets, the grimier he looks. Matthew McConaughey It’s not hard to build the stinky case for Matthew McConaughey. The unkempt hair and beach bum lifestyle hardly rank a mention when the man himself admits he eschews deodorant. He wouldn’t even break the ban when his “Fool’s Gold†co-star, Kate Hudson, complained about his body odor. “She always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, ‘Would you please put this on?’†But her efforts were in vain. “I just never wore it. No cologne, no deodorant.†In fact, Matthew defends himself by insisting no other co-stars ever mentioned it. (Note to Matthew: Sometimes when you reek of B.O., people try to be nice by not telling you that you reek of B.O. This does not mean that you don’t reek of B.O. Just FYI.) Johnny Depp It must be hard being the most desirable man in the world. Maybe that’s why Johnny Depp hides behind cartoonishly awful ensembles, like his ill-fitting pants, the grungy fedoras and those plucked-fresh-from-the-dumpster shoes. I can’t tell you how many times my best gal pal and I have sighed at the sight of Johnny only to add, “too bad he probably smells like cigarettes and dirty clothes.†We won’t ever get close enough to find out, but still! And not to belabor the cigarette thing, but Johnny smokes hand-rolled sticks exclusively. So all that foul gunk that normally ends up in a filter? It coats his hands and teeth instead. Jared Leto A virtual chameleon of the grubby vibe, Jared Leto’s not content to rock just one dirty look. Hipster grossout? Check. Unwashed hippy dude? Check. Icky emo? You know it! Jared even went through a dingy spray-on tan phase à la LiLo. On occasion, he cleans up his act, but that doesn’t discount the greater trend towards trashy. And it’s not just the perpetually stringy hair or days worth of eyeliner that gives the not-so-fresh tip off, it’s the whole unwashed package. Oh, well, it’s not like any of it is holding Jared back. Every twenty-something it-girl in Hollywood happily dates him regardless of what he smells like. Orlando Bloom What happened to fresh-faced Orlando Bloom circa 2003? Remember that clean-cut cutie at the “Lord of the Rings†premieres? Sigh. Seems like a greasy haired doppelganger took his place ages ago. Maybe after three “Pirates of the Caribbean†installments the poor hygiene pirate’s life actually took hold. Whatever it is, it’s not a good look for him. Orlando’s girlfriend reportedly thinks so, too. “He’ll wear the same jeans for a week before he throws them in the washer.†And if that wasn’t specific enough, “Same goes for his sweaters, T-shirts and socks.†Ew! Poll done by MSNBC
  13. Bryan Adams is not even close to Springsteen! By no means as a singer or songwriter. Bryan seemed a bit more pop oriented. I hear him on lite-rock stations quite often. The only song of his I will listen to is the Summer of '69. Other than that, I turn the dial. What was that lame song he did for that terrible Johnny Depp movie with Marlon Brando? Can't remember the name of either, very forgettable.
  14. I watched a bit of the clips...OMG!! I just cringed, what a nightmare. They should not have sang Beatles tunes, no one should for that matter but wannabe singers??? It scared me basically!!
  15. I do have the Nick of Time album and Luck of The Draw, both I enjoy, but I love when she sings with more of a bluesy feel. And listening to her get down on the guitar is just awesome.
  16. I searched and she doesn't have a thread of her own and she deserves one. I remember hearing her back in high school, cool raspy voice. Then I learned she could kick ass on a guitar and I wanted to hear more of Bonnie Raitt. So I bought an album, Sweet Forgiveness and loved her version of "Runaway". I liked her blues sassy sound. I started reading up on her and learned about her love of some great artists like Sippie Wallace and Howlin' Wolf. This was a rockin' chick, she had me hooked. I kept listening to her over the years, read about he battle with drugs and how she won that battle. Would see her perform with friends like Jackson Browne, Roy Orbison, kd lang, being part of the No Nukes concert...her career never really hitting the big spotlight, then it did in 1989 with Nick of Time, getting her the Grammys she deserved. Bonnie is still listened to at my house and in my car. She's like a great old friend that you need to have by your side. And she is one hell of a guitar player with a sexiness that is just there, not in your face but she has it, and it looks great on her. Here's a few of my favs.... Angel From Montgomery Runaway Thank You (recorded when she was 21) I'm In The Mood with John Lee Hooker Any thoughts on this cool lady of rock and roll and blues??

  21. I just read this and found it amusing. I don't know some of the names and some I know and don't see here much anymore...no one stays forever...it's like a marriage, you leave for one reason or another.
