The score was by Clint Mansell. And yeah, that movie was really sad definitely choked me up cause I have a friend who got burned out on drugs and wound up killing himself by overdosing on heroin. So yeah. If that movie doesn't affect you at all, you have no soul.

My nephew sweetens my coffee. He's staying the week with us and his bedtime story for the last couple days has been the story of Hal Jordan, the greatest Green Lantern in the known universe. Heh. Comic geek in training. I'm so proud of him though, cause he chose to look at my old comics instead of watch TV.

I just watched Justice League: The New Frontier, an animated movie based on the Darwyn Cooke graphic novel DC: The New Frontier. It was pretty much the best animated comic book adaptation ever made. Especially the bits involving Green Lantern (Best superhero EVER). I also dig the old 50s/60s style animation. Made me feel like I was watching the old comic books come to life. I'd give it a 9/10 1 point deducted for Aquaman. Even if he is only in the movie for 10 seconds, he's still Aquaman. *note* I don't know if my rating can be trusted. I tend to give anything with the Green Lantern a lot of slack. Well. Providing it's the Hal Jordan version of GL. Well, Kyle Rayner was good too. Really anyone who ISN'T John Stewart. My god, worst Lantern EVER! Rant over *note*

No, I can't say that I have. But I HAVE seen a whole house flying perfectly intact around a tornado!

I just spent about three and a half hours writing an essay for my Mass Media & Society class only to find out that it was due YESTERDAY and the professor has a very strict "no late work under any circumstances" policy. And it was a good essay too.

How about The Crying Game.

Just watched The Wizard of Oz with my nephew. Since I have lived in Kansas for twenty two years, I don't think I'll ever like this movie as much as non-Kansans. My nephew loves it, but he hasn't been exposed to the bombardment of references to Dorothy and Toto from people who live in other states. Yes. I live in Kansas. No I've never met Dorothy or Toto. Yes, I've seen/been through a tornado or two. Overall I'd give the movie a 5/10. I wish someone would make one that's more true to the book, though. Cause that stuff was scary.

Just finished Martian Time Slip by Philip K. Dick. Overall, it was pretty good. At times it was a bit hard to read, but I still highly recommend it! Next on my list is Dr. Bloodmoney or How We Got Along After the Bomb also by PKD.

If it counts for anything, I totally forced my girlfriend to see The Expendables today. I really enjoyed it. It really wasn't anything more or less than I thought it would be. A solid 7/10

My girlfriend. She hasn't done anything to make me mad. But I hurt my leg today and couldn't drive. And since her car is so much different than mine, she was grinding gears all over the place . . .

I actually dig chick flicks quite a bit. Just not in the theater. Seriously though, Breakfast at Tiffany's is my favorite movie of all time.

My girlfriend dragged me to see The Switch starring Jennifer Aniston. She loved it, but it didn't do it for me. The only saving grace for me was Jeff Goldblum. I'd give it a 5/10 2.5 for Goldblum and 2.5 and 2.5 for the preview for Legend of the Guardians One thing I just thought of though, it may be better on DVD. As a guy, I don't pay good money to watch people work out their relationship drama on screen. I go see things on the big screen to see epic explosions. So, I'll give it another chance when I watch it at home.

I am watching the remake of Clash of the Titans. Though the special effects are better, I can't say that I'm impressed. That said, I do love me some Gemma Arterton.

Just signed the papers to end my lease at this apartment. I am officially moving on October 1st! No more harassment from my jerkface neighbor. And, on top of that, I don't have to pay the $1,000 dollar fee to end my lease early, because we had a compelling enough case against him for harassment. Which is nice for a poor college student. And, I have court next week for the whole noise violation thing and I have plenty of paperwork that shows that he's full of it. Oh, and I was also informed today that I will be getting a photography internship that comes with an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for a photo shoot! Go me!

That would be a lot funnier if I didn't have court next week . . . Just playin'! I can't wait!
