  1. Kerry: "Hello Goodbye" - The Beatles Bush: "Sandman" - America
  2. Windtalkers (Nicolas Cage) Tears Of The Rising Sun (Bruce Willis)
  3. Now that is a celebrity deathmatch I would like to see.
  4. Lynyrd Skynyrd! Mad Hatter: death Simple Man: identity
  5. Makes some pretty powerful statements when you consider what someone's thoughts may be. Very nice!
  6. Technology is a wonderful thing and it's so nice to see the prices of technology constantly coming down after its initial release, but they sure don't' have the manufactured quality from 25 - 30 years ago. My parents had a stereo from the 1970's and it still works. You go and buy a stereo now and you'll be lucky to get 10 years out of it without bringing it in for repair. Of course when you bring it in for repair they'll quote you $300 for a unit you paid $350 for so that you'll just go and buy another one. Technology today is too disposable.
  7. As long as Kid Rock didn't do to Fat Bottomed Girls what he did to Bad Company's Feel Like Makin' Love.
  8. I always got a little annoyed when bands complained about the whole Napster controversy. Their albums would sell 3 million copies and they would make a couple million dollars but another 100,000 copies were downloaded so instead of 1.5 million they only made 1.3 million dollars. Wish I had that problem with my job.
  9. If that's true, then all I can say is... Thank God for VHS!
  10. Not really a big Duran Duran fan though. How about some regional bands that I may have never heard of?
  11. Beta is still used in the video production industry since it's much higher quality than VHS.
  12. You're hitting it right on the nuts now. Too many people are in the business because they think it's the avenue for making loads of money without having to put a lot of effort into it. I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think it takes a lot of effort to be a boyband.
  13. I was born in '78 and I can remember not having a lot of those things when I was growing up. Which is weird because it's only 7 years apart from the new college kids. Our first VCR had a WIRED remote and it was BETA! Now how many people here know what beta is? P.S. Mmm... Earth-Angel
  14. I think everyone here as some very valid points. Both John Lennon and Paul McCartney had their creative sides and were able to make music that groups of people appreciated. But on a side note, they did make more than one "style" of music but more or less stuck to what was popular at the time. My biggest arguement would be that Paul McCartney is a little more reserved when it comes to the general publis whereas John Lennon just says what he feels like saying. As far as who was better, they both made good music for the audience that they felt like targeting. John Lennon seemed to target the younger more rebellious crowd while Paul McCartney seemed to target the relaxed and more reserved crowd. I think the best comment hands down is that the two of them together were way better than the two of them apart.
  15. The Australian Pink Floyd Show is going to be here in November and I've heard many good things about them.
  16. So what do you think would happen if CD's were only $5 and the artists were only making pennies from each one?
  17. You can really "feel" this song. Very nice!
  18. All I can say is stay true to your roots and no one can disrespect you for that. So what happened to people introducing themselves on this thread?
  19. "Daddy, we got a new magazine with Ashlee and Jessica Simpson on the cover!" "Sorry son, that magazine's not for you. This is the new and improved Ashlee and Jessica Simpson." "You mean they finally learned to sing?" "No son, they just finally learned to shut their mouths."
  20. Have you seen the price of concert tickets for The Rolling Stones or The Eagles? Neither of which will play small venue... This last July I saw what is, to me, one of the greatest concert get togethers ever: Lynyrd Skynyrd ZZ Top Allman Brothers Little Feat John Fogerty Rick Springfield Pat Benatar Huey Lewis & The News John Waite Chris Robinson & The New Earth Mud plus some other smaller named bands... 4 days of music and camping, all outdoors, only $100 per person. Now you tell me these people don't still have a lot of love for music. Some bands have "sold out" and some bands still just love to play.
  21. My favorite Guess Who song is "No Time". "No time left for you... On my way to better things I found myself some wings Distant roads are calling me" Buffalo Springfield - "For What It's Worth" is a song about a protest, but it's not necessarily a protest song.
