  14. At least he didn't go before he got to do "The Notebook." He was totally and tragically believable in that movie! I watched a very early "Maverick" episode on YouTube last night, "Stage Coach West" I believe it was. The story was predictably sophomoric, as many 1950's westerns are, but what got me is that early on, Garner's Brett Maverick was written as a much darker character than the smiling, wise-cracking cowboy into which he eventually evolved in that series. I think that evolution had much to do with Garner's on-screen charm and gentlemanly good looks. Just too difficult for him to be a somewhat sinister 'bad boy' or perceived as having a heavy-natured heart. Hope he was as nice in real life as he seemed in production. RIP

  23. Just wanted to announce that my new website was officially opened on May 1. Thanks to Carl for a bit of advice along the development trail. The Digital Image Cafe is a photography contest/learning/community site for amateurs and professionals. It is also a place to see wonderfully expressive photography over a morning cup of coffee. Right now we are holding the Picture of the Day (POTD) juried contest in 8 categories, with other features opening as time passes. It's like a big, brand new building that has minimal furnishings, but has grand potential. The site is not a free one, however beginning in June there will be 7-day free trial memberships available for the curious or interested.
