  1. My dog lives at my mums house, along with the famil cat, and I have my own cat who lives here with me, although because I'm always at work, she has rapidly chosen the 'hand who feeds her' - another member of my family..when I move again, I have a feeling I'll have to leave her here because they'd miss her too much...although it would destroy me if it comes to that.. Anyway, despite that I love cats and dogs, but nothing can compare to being greeted by our dog, who wags her little stumpy tail so much that her whole body moves and she nearly knocks herself off her feet! Her funny little ways - how she lies down, the way she comes skidding into the kitchen from the garden... And the one thing I will never forget, when I had the phonecall from my mum to say that my stepdad had died - I was stood at the front door waiting for them to return home from the hospital, and upon hearing the news I remember sliding down the doorframe and collapsing in a heap on the floor in the doorway, completely alone, and then feeling a heavy weight on my legs, and Tess had gotten into my lap and placed her head on my shoulder. We stayed like that for almost an hour until someone came, my arms around her neck and her soaked in my tears...she truly lived up to the 'loyal friend' that night.
  2. We only have two local radio stations, BBC Radio Cornwall and Pirate FM 102. I rarely listen to Radio Cornwall as most of the presenters have a strong Cornish accents which constantly reminds me of the stereotype of Cornish people...we don't all drink Scrumpy and hardly any of us are farmers, and no, I don't own a combine harvester...the music they play is ok sometimes, and they play a couple of classic rock songs, but never seems to be when I listen to them..most of the time it's not worth bothering with... Pirate FM 102 claims "real music variety", but I hear the same songs constantly...all the usual pop songs and golden oldies...nothing I've never heard, and loooooads of adverts.
  3. By all means Ron, thank you
  4. Just musings from a sleepless night... Upon closing your eyes... Do you see my face Do you imagine the warmth of a single embrace Do you dream of kissing under a moonlit sky Do you long to smile but never know why Sleep soft and deeply I will linger there A tender touch to soothe And comfort your despair Knowing of you what I do.. I “couldn’t love you moreâ€
  5. Allwoman Sisters (instead of Allman Brothers) The She-Gees (instead of The Bee-Gees)
  6. I was just replying to Pauls query really... Maybe British Dentistry isn't all it's cracked up to be, to have this reputation!
  7. I made it to 5000 posts this week, and realised today that my title hadn't changed to 'Sea Otter' at 5001....
  8. "The Blower's Daughter" ~ Damien Rice "Centrefold" ~ J.Geils Band "The Chauffeur" ~ Duran Duran "Cowboy Dreams" ~ Jimmy Nail "The Cowboy In Me" ~ Tim McGraw "Dinner Lady Arms" ~ The Darkness "Doctor Jeep" ~ Sisters Of Mercy "Firestarter" ~ Prodigy
  9. I don't have bad teeth...
  10. "Linger" by The Cranberries... All the more poignant since we arrived upon the scene of a womans car which had skidded on ice and flipped onto the roof of the car early last year, she had the live version playing as she crawled out through the window...amazingly unharmed apart from some cuts from the windscreen and in shock. I have to say that I find it pretty upsetting to listen to, but love it all the same. Isn't it funny that the one thing clear in my mind from that day was the music I could hear...
  11. I agree....write the song about your wife...
  12. Definitley a punchy song, I've only heard 'You Don't Love Me"...will check them out some more!
  13. It's about two people thinking about themselves...should they meet and risk one kiss (which they know would happen...)that will definitely turn their lives upside down...discarding what they already have...but possibly finding something in each other that they have been longing for. If people really need to be shown as 'villains or innocents', then they are both villains...but the point of the song is about should they or shouldn't they? Not how would my existing partner feel about it, because we already know that answer.
  14. And 'Lights' makes me go all mushy inside!
  15. ^^ One of my all time favourites - I completely agree!! "Separate Ways" was the first Journey song I heard and since am hooked...his voice is fantastic..
  16. I wanna be christened too Something cool...."Foxy Fish" or 'Foxface' (which is actually a real fish!)
  17. I think the one of the main points of the song is that the people involved are struggling to find closure...
  18. You know already how I feel about this, some of the lines are beautiful, keep thinking.
  19. Hey hey Sultan Steel...may I join your harem..?
  20. I always thought I worked better with music, but lately I've found myself unable to concentrate if I've taken work home and listen to music at the same time. At school and college I always listened to music when studying and thought it worked well for me, now I'm beginning to think I could have studied better if I hadn't listened to so much music...I guess we'll never know now. I can only try it out when I study in the future. Alot of music I'm listening to lately, I am seeing from a fresh perspective I guess because of personal circumstances, and I find myself concentrating too much on the lyrics, and not enough on my work!!
  21. Maybe we now have a thread-eater...
  22. See it does happen, I'm not holding out totally false hopes...
