  1. That's my Sammy! Can I be your groupie???
  2. Jane we have so much in common. I too would pick Janis. I'love the blues, and she does not get nearly the credit she deserves for her talent. I identify quite a lot with her. Not her talent , but her life. The troubles weren't necessarily the same, but self destructive actions were. Mine wern't the same actions(thank god) but just as devastating to me. I understand that longing for real love.
  3. Jane this is good. I judge good writing by whether or not it touches me. This does. It has a special meaning for me, and I enjoyed it. I wish I had the knack to express myself this way.
  4. It's amazing how people can take a truly good thing and spin it, and come up with something bad, or even dirty. Nothing against right wing religious groups, but they are particularly good at this. Come on people!
  5. Kevin! You like Morphine? The Band Not the drug.... I would never have thought it, for some reason. If I'm in the right mood I adore them! I'm waiting for Batmans review. Anxiously. That boy's got a ear for music.
  6. Thanks Das..and peaches. Now I will have to learn more. All I knew was he had a beautiful voice.
  7. Good for you again!!! We used to do a haunted house for the neighborhood. Many years ago. Not just the kids, adults too. Just how scary it was depended on who was going through. I mean we used the entire basement. It was great.
  8. How funnee! Peaches I really liked yours!
  9. Both are excellent!!! Of course those are 2 of the cds that are gone with the wind, so to speak. I love Honey White. Keep an open mind!!
  10. Never overlook Taj Mahal!! He's great. Just a fun song: Oop Oop Pah Doo. Or Gone Fishin. He's a serious bluesman.
  11. I'm afraid this is no help, but it sounds like a take off of Okie From Muskogee. From your lyrics: I'm proud to be an okie from Muskogee.... And white lightning's still the biggest thrill of all. Maybe search Okie From Muskogee??
  12. I heard an Interview with Ocasek. He said he's been just living his life and never really realized it had been over 8 years since he'd recorded anything. I'd remember if I hadn't worked for 8 years!!
  13. Ok, I had an original copy of Bayou Country. At that time John Fogerty was not getting any indivdual credit for anything to do with the band. On the front cover it has the labels name 'Fantasy Records' and nothing else. I still think this has to have come from the court case. Possibly Debut bought, or partnered with Fantasy at some point, or that's the guys Fogerty got to handle the actual production and marketing? Still just a guess. When was your copy released? Mine was from 67 I think.
  14. I could be wrong, but this is what I think. Originally John Fogarty was not given the producers credit. After years of court battle he finally won that right. I would think if something is being re-issued in the UK or Australia, it would have that production company also listed. Who knows, but it sounds good!
  15. a couple more off the top of my head....ZZ Top, Areosmith, oh shoot give me time!
  16. Bright, Sunshiny Day? Yoo-hoo please step off my cumulus
  17. And just what kind of bigshot are you young lady? Most of us are lucky if we ever speak at a city council meeting!!
  18. Gis how exciting!!! The old USof A won't be the same. Let us know when you're coming, and give us your hotel Phone#. We'll all call and say HI!
  19. Soulgirl! I knew I forgot someone!!! Many apologizies!! You'll have to come to the wineries with Peaches, Amy and us. These are German wineries, right here in Missouri!!! Delicious!
  20. Well now, that's a little bit of a let down huh??
  21. One day... First Elvish, and I would take rahdi to a cards game, then we would meet Shawna, Laurie, Rachel, Angel at the Landing for a party!! Peaches and Amy would have to come with me on a float dow the Meremac, then visit the Wineries, and blues clubs high on the cliffs. Sammy and edna and I would hang out, making brownies, tea, and other assorted, goodies, while listening to the stones or watching videos. Ken would have to go cave diving. I would fix him up with a realtive...he knows where to go. Jr I would take to Gateway International Speedway. Not the greatest, but you ought to see it when all the Wallace boys are there! Let's see Ron would like the Guitar Emporium, where the craftsmen make guitars for eric clapton, eddie van halen, sting, and more. Good place to get pictures and autographs!! Diggs I'd just introduce to my scouse, then giggle at how they talk to one another! Maybe another party, but no warm beer! Batman I'd just introduce to my sons, we'd party together! I'll have to think about the others. And we'll all(but most especially bluesy) have to go to Fast Eddies Bon Air...the best eats and blues-rock music either side of the Mississipi!!
  22. ummm..well now, kind of a fusion, rock, electric, jazz, strange lyrics. they are definately out of the mainstream. Their songs are in several movie scores.Try them once, You might like them, I do. there are guitars, horns, saxes, keyborads with maybe a synthesizer here or there. Knowing you, you'd like them, and I can count on you to listen!
