  1. Other than JCS, Chris, she's best know for a song called "If I Can't Have You" from the dico era. It's a great song, BTW. Give it a listen.
  2. Yesterday sometime. I love it. I can't wait to get home from work and peruse it, once some more stuff gets in here. Top notch idea, Carl & Sara.
  3. hey, I didn't make it up, I just copied and pasted it. I still say Lucy is horrible.
  4. Both wrong. Killers is when Alice Cooper's band hit it's stride, fellas. It's as musically sound as anything you're going to hear. It's crunchy, in a kick a## sort of way. He had a stretch there with Killers, Love it to Death, Billion Dollar Babies, Muscle of Love, Goes To Hell, Welcome to my Nightmare, From the Inside, and a few others, where not only are the lyrics witty and slick, but the band is on their game. Probably one of the most ignored and underestimated of the time.
  5. McCartney's the more consumate 'rock star'. He was always more poppy than Lennon. Lennon was more socially conscious.
  6. I caught a little of this. IMO, they could have left Lucy off the list. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone loved Lucy. To me, she was irritating. There's a difference between being funny and "Look at me, I'm being funny" Lucy was the latter. 100. Xena 99. Monk 98. Steve Urkel 97. Dr. Smith 96. Artie 95. Doug Ross 94. Vic Mackey 93. 7. Eliminated on the date of birth: HdThoreau Kevin Levi Invisible r Foxy jr Still alive on D.O.B.: Windy* edna* sammy* Unc Katie Carl *has today, April 2nd. BTW, I decided to let sammy's new weight and length stay in. It's all in fun, right?
  8. Why couldn't it be the last 24 hours? I had April 1st. I have been informed by a female of the opposite sex that first babies are usually late. I think this sort of inside information gives the women a decided edge in this pool. I will go through and update who is in and who is out on the date. Everyone is still alive on all the categories.
  9. Wow. The Pixies formed, left, and came back, and I never even knew it.
  10. I got in an argument with a girlfriend inside of a tent. That's a bad place for an argument, because I tried to walk out, and had to slam the flap ************** Yup, that's the guy! He was funny. The way he told this one when I saw it, he said he got into an argument with his girlfriend, and since he couldn't slam the tent flap, he "pulled the zipper up really, really fast." LOL. Man, that's too bad.
  11. LOLOL. I don't know, Sammy. I don't have a problem with it. But SF is a democracy. What say, posters?
  12. Muzik has a way in which he carries himself that commands respect. And he gets it.
  13. Hey, I just woke up this morning and thought of something...I have a rare album (#33 of 100) of Van Halen recorded live at the Pasedena Civic. I believe it is the last show they did before going in and recording their debut album. No, I'm going to give it away, but if anyone has the capabilities of converting an album to cd, I could make that a prize.
  14. You know, I thought about that. I doubt anyone will get 3 or 4 right. How about whomever gets the date right gets something, closest on time gets something else, weight, and length. I will give the winner of the closest time a hat I have that's autographed by a bunch of NASCAR drivers. It's just sitting in a box under my bed. The winner of the closest weight will get two (count em', two) genuine lugnuts from THE Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt's #3 Goodwrench Chevy. I know these are authentic, because I picked them up in his pit stall myself after a race down in Dover. I have 7 of them, so I can give away two, and still have a full set. The closest length will get...um...let me think...oh, I know, I have an autographed picture of the champ himself, Muhammad Ali. (post card sized) And for the date, I will burn a cd of the music of your choice, be it a single artist, or a mix. How's that?
  15. This thread isn't going anywhere. it's a valuable tool for the site.
  16. Elvy doesn't have that much time!!! Seriously, though, are you starting a new thread for it?

    List #6

Very good choices, Jenny. I own 11 Mellencamp cds. I like his stuff a lot. You left out "Check It Out" from the Lonesome Jubilee, though. That's probably my favorite cut from that cd.
  18. Don't you mean hanging out there? Sorry Elvy, but you are just rife with punchline possibilities. COME ON WITH THE QUIZ ALREADY 55!!!
  19. Let's get on with it already!!! It's tomorrow in the Outback! I looked at my world map (yes I have one, cause I'm a geek). And I know you're here 55. what's the hold up?
  20. You know, I thought that, too. But I wasn't sure.
  21. The last Elvy post was yesterday (March 30th) at 7:15pm, roughly 12 hours ago. Come on, Elvy, you can hang on until tomorrow. (I have April 1st)
  22. I'd pick a street in any neighborhood in America. Have cameras watch people get up, go to work. Come home 8 hours later, play a little hoops in the driveway with their kids. Take out the trash on Monday night. Cut the grass on Saturday. Shovel the drive in winter. The prize would be retiring and puttering around your tomato plants. Giving your grandkids gum. You said reality, right?
  23. bazooka's got it, edna. Anyway, here are the lyrics. They fit with the explanation, anyway. Waiting for the break of day Searching for something to say Dancing lights againnst the sky Giving up I close my eyes Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4 Staring blindly into space Getting up to splash my face Wanting just to stay awake Wondering how much I can take Should have tried to do some more 25 or 6 to 4 Solo Feeling like I ought to sleep Spinning room is sinking deep Searching for something to say Waiting for the break of day 25 or 6 to 4 25 or 6 to 4 Seems to me it could also have something to do with the ending of a relationship, as well as trying to write a song. I suppose it's open to interpretation in that regard.
