RonJonSurfer
According to rock journalist Roger Freedman, Dave Clark 5 got screwed out of a spot in this years Rock & Roll Hall of Fame voting. Roger is a voting member of the Hall and he said that Jann Wenner decided to use an earlier vote (before all the votes were in) because Grandmaster Flash was ahead of DC5 at that point. Wenner said he wanted the first Rap group inducted. When the dust cleared and all the votes were in, DC5 had 6 more votes than Grandmaster Flash. Since this event is totally controlled by Wennner and really meant to be a prime TV event, Wenner chose to stick with the early ballot that had Grandmaster Flash beating out DC5. The feeling is that this was probably the last shot for DC5 to get in to the H of F.
