Farin Posted May 23, 2006 Report Share Posted May 23, 2006 Saw RENT last night. Excellent! As good as the play, maybe even better. Perhaps that's because Chris Columbus used many of the original Broadway cast members. If you watch Law & Order on TV you've seen Jesse L. Martin as the black detective. From that role you'd never have guessed how talented this guy really is. He sings quite well and is a good dancer too. Lots of emotion in this "cover" of La Boheme. Great songs throughout, though a few from the play were omitted in order to allow dialog to carry the plot for the sake of movie making. If you appreciate movie musicals you have to see this one.
