janetlee
I may be looking for a needle in a haystack, but you never know....can anyone venture a guess as to what this song might be? All I can remember is that it has the line "whatever I said I didn't mean it" then it goes into a repetition of this line "I want you back...I want you back..." It is a soft rock song in the genre of something like George Michael or Nik Kershaw might sing. This song was sung by a male and was from the 80's or 90's. Thanx! ryansgirl319
Seeking this song you are: Take That - Back For Good I guess now it's time for me to give up I feel it's time Got a picture of you beside me Got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup Got a fist of pure emotion Got a head of shattered dreams Gotta leave it, gotta leave it all behind now Whatever I said, whatever I did, I didn't mean it I just want you back for good Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it You'll be right and understood Unaware but underlined I figured out the story It wasn't good But in the corner of my mind I celebrated glory But that was not to be In the twist of separation you excelled at being free Can't you find a little room inside for me Whatever I said, whatever I did, I didn't mean it I just want you back for good Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it You'll be right and understood And we'll be together, this time is forever We'll be fighting and forever we will be So complete in our love We will never be uncovered again

Foxy
Hmmmm....as Rachel said, Take That = boyband = the Pop Princes of the Nineties. Never heard them described as any kind of rock, I doubt they even know it exists ~ especially with Gary Barlow penning the majority of songs!! janetlee
let's say that I split music into generalized categories (albeit my own system...not technically correct I s'pose...) For me there is "hard rock" (Aerosmith, for example),"soft rock" (Fleetwood Mac), and "Classic Rock" (Which for me encompasses a LOT of acts!), and "Oldies rock" (Beatles) Anyhow, it works for me! :: I never even heard of "Take That" until yesterday!! HaHaHa!!! I'm an oldies lover for the most part! So I'm officially "old" now!!! LOL!!! janet

NightOwl
I hear ya, Janet! If you like that Take That, perhaps you may like a few of Robbie Williams' songs. He was in Take That. Very cute fella as well! :: Anyway... Have a good day! Glad you found your song! Much Love, Jessica ::
