ImThatGuyToo Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 This is a silly question, and I should be able to play it by ear, but I just can't figure out how to play John Lee Hooker's Boogie Chillen. I also can't find any tabs online. Any help from any guitar players/ google gurus? Thanks in advance.
bazooka Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 You already may have encountered it, but this same 'lesson' by Keith Wyatt is on a bunch of different sites. I can't tell if it is useful at all (don't know a tab from a fresca).
ImThatGuyToo Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 Thanks, that helped, a little...but I'm still looking for the tab to the song. Any other thoughs out there?
RonJonSurfer Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I searched with no luck either. My suggestion is to just wing it. I'm sure that's what JL Hooker did... :guitar:
EasyRider Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 It has been said that ZZ Top lifted the main riff from Boogie Chillen for their hit song La Grange. So check out some La Grange tabs. check this out Boogie Chillen-La Grange
ImThatGuyToo Posted May 12, 2005 Author Report Posted May 12, 2005 That worked. I sat around learning to play La Grange and then put on Boogie Chillen and it just kinda came to me. Phew, that was really eating away at me, i didn't know where to start. Thanks man.
EasyRider Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Hey that's just great. It was a pleasure to be of some help.Keep on pickin'
