Batman Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 What sequels were better than the original? For me, heres a list: The Naked Gun 2 1/2 Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom Star Wars: both 2 and 3 Spiderman 2
Batman Posted September 20, 2004 Author Report Posted September 20, 2004 Also, I liked Home Alone 2 better than 1. 3 just sucked though.
cosmosis Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 The Godfather, even though the first one is one of my favorites too. Robert Deniro was genius as young Vito. After so much noise about it, I thought Ghost In The Shell was a weak movie. The sequel is out and I have high hopes.
MindCrime Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 I actually enjoyed Lethal Weapon 3 the best out of the series, but all those movies were pretty damned good. I thought Godfather 2 was better than 1, but the 3rd one was horrible. Conan the Destroyer was my favorite out of that series, but I think it had more to do with Olivia d'Abo's (the Single Guy fame) character Princess Jehnna. Her presence added to the personal beauty of the film (mind you, I seem to be the only one who enjoyed this piece), the film was a blockbuster disaster coincidently. Usually I prefer the original movie however.
XXX Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Animal Instincts 2 :: But, seriously, The Empire Strikes Back RULZ!
_Annabelle_ Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Yep, the Godfather Part 2 was a little better than the original but I didn't find 3 that bad. The whole trilogy is excellent, IMO. And I agree Empire Strikes Back is better than the original. Terminator 2 was alright as well.
_jr_ Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Vacation was great. European Vacation was horrible. Christmas Vacation is right up there with the first one. It's a toss up .
MindCrime Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Vegas Vacation was pretty bad too, I couldn't identify with a single moment of tried comedy. Cousin Eddy had his light though, even though the rest of the movie pretty much blew.
miamisammy29 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Rocky III (with Mr. T. as Clubber Lang) Superman II - General Zod ruled!! "OH MY GOD!!" "That's ZOD." "Friday the 13th Part....who the hell knows....Jason Takes Manhattan". The part where the one dude is fighting Jason on the roof and he keeps punching Jason in the face (must be about eight times). Then he finally tires and he says to Jason, "Okay, go ahead, take your best shot!" And Jason knocks his head clean off and it rolls off the roof. I was completely BAKED the first time I saw this scene. I totally LMFAO, I dropped my pizza and soda, and fired up another bong. It was most triumphant!
Mike Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Apollo 14 was way WAY WAY better than Apollo 13!!
Eggplant Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Mike, I just answered this question in your post about the worst sequels. My choices are "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Toy Story 2".

Friday The 13th Part 2 is a little better than the first seeing as to how that's the one where Jason Voorhees makes his first appearance... sh-sh-sh-haah-haah-haah. I think Kevin Bacon was in the first, so you can even connect this series with six degrees of Bacon ::
golden_ann Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Terminator 2 was better than the original. I loved that liquid, fake cop, and the tough, no nonsense Linda Hamilton.I only wonder what the heck they thinking with #3, Rise of the Machines. That totally whack, bootleg John Connor was unforgivable!
