RonJonSurfer
A few weeks ago, Bob Dylan got busted in Long Branch, NJ while "looking at houses". It turns out Bob was searching for the house in this story. The house that Bruce lived in when he wrote "Born To Run" is for sale. Here's the story: Bruce Springsteen's 'Born to Run' house is for sale in Long Branch by The Star-Ledger Continuous News Desk Tuesday September 01, 2009, 6:37 AM LONG BRANCH -- A small house in the West End section previously occupied by New Jersey rock legend Bruce Springsteen is for sale for $299,000, according to a report by RedBank Orbit. The reports said Springsteen lived in the house in 1974 and 1975, when his career-making "Born to Run" album was released. Realtor Susan McLaughlin of Keller Williams Realty told the website the one-story shotgun-style house is "bigger than it looks at 828 square feet." MindCrime
Geeze, you can buy a mini-mansion in some parts (possibly New Jersey) for that much.
RonJonSurfer
$299,000 gets you nothing in NJ. Even in this economy the mini-mansion range starts around $600K. (especially in North Jersey). So Bruces house is $299K because it is a small dump.
MindCrime
Not even a good-deal on forclosed homes?
RonJonSurfer
I haven't paid much attention to that market, but I'm still not hearing about any steals. Landlords aren't even really reducing commercial leases which is insane. Empty office space instead of lesser rents.
Shawna
I heard that a total of 500 houses sold in all of Phoenix last year. That's insane.
JumboXL
Let's hope this incident has a similar consequence as the one that made him write "When the ship comes in", in 1963. I'm looking forward to his new recordings!
