aramis
Hello from Germany, sorry if my English is not the best one. Digitalising my cassettes I found a song, which was performed in the mids of the 70s. It is a parody on well known artists of this time and it is done as if they were singing nursery rhymes. It starts with "Roxy Music" and continues with Rubettes ("Humpty Dumpty"), someone I cannot identify (may be Elvis or Cliff Richard?), Steve Harley&Cockney Rebel and Gary GLitter ("Ring-a-ring-a-roses"). At the end the band sings with their original voices in a rocky way. I think this song entered the british charts, but not in a high position. Otherwise I cannot think about a reason being played at a german radio station. Because it is completely unknown in Germany, I hope that someone of this forum can help me to find the name of titleand artist. Thank you! Uwe Edited March 30, 2009 by Guest thanks Lucky! Lucky
Eek, I may have found it. What a long shot. Anyway, try googling Terry Webster - The Rockin' Berries. I found a minor mention, which led me to this .... Rock A Bye Nursery Rhyme scroll about half way down the page, and voila! A record sleeve, with all the names you've mentioned above, as performed by Terry Webster. Oh, by the way aramis, welcome to SongFacts. And, your english is just fine!
