ldybug
I remember hearing a song when I was very young (maybe around the late 60's to early 70's). I believe it was a country song about a little girl whose father was marrying her mom. The lyrics were something to the effect of "today my dad is marrying my mom" or "my daddy is marrying my mom" or vice versa. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me any information on this song. Edited February 27, 2008 by Guest solved :)

ldybug
I wish I did. I only remember that it was sung by a female artist (country, I believe) and that it was about a little girl was saying something to the effect that "today my daddy's marrying my mom". I remember listening to it on possibly the radio or an 8-track tape whenever I was with my grandmother. It could possibly even be a little older than what I originally stated. I remember also hearing songs like Jeannie's Afraid of the Dark and The Battle of New Orleans, but again, I do believe some of those were on 8-tracks but not 100% sure about the song that I am looking for. Jim in Pa
found an Emmilou Harris song that fits the time line and the CW genre called "Daddy" but it dosnt have the lines you stated. Its more of a song about the mother leaving the father. Jim Edited February 27, 2008 by Guest
