  1. The titles all contain band names: Boston Journey Rainbow Heart Chicago Rush
  2. Could it be the obvious? These are all destinations.
  3. Your Knight takes my Bishop, huh? From the same Johnny Williams who scored Star Wars, E.T., Raiders Of The Lost Ark, etc., etc.
  4. Quicksilver Messenger Service ~ Quicksilver Messenger Service Their 1968 self-titled debut and, in my opinion, their best non-compilation album. From music writer Richie Unterberger Later, keyboard god Nicky Hopkins joined (listen to Edward The Mad Shirt Grinder on Quicksilver's Shady Grove album), but after Cipollina departed and screeching vocalist Dino Valenti took center stage, the group was doomed. Valenti (Chester Powers) might have been an original member except for his drug bust and time in jail. Dino's Song (I Don't Want to Spoil Your Party) is included on this first album -- without Dino. He also wrote the Youngbloods classic Get Together. I prefer his songwriting to his singing.
  5. No. It's supposed to skip at 2:14.732
  6. Ringo's second solo album, a Country/Western effort called Beaucoups Of Blues was a stupendous crossover flop. But a friend bought it, and we listened to it quite a bit. Ringo's vocals are not great (not surprising) but the back-up players are big league, and the lyrics and arrangements in some of these songs are pretty interesting. I remember the title song and Love Don't Last Long in particular.
  7. Go, edna, go! Where's that side order of links?
  8. We've been there already, johnnyg.
  9. I hear Mariachi static on my radio And the tubes they glow in the dark And I'm there with her in Ensenada And I'm here in Echo Park Carmelita hold me tighter I think I'm sinking down And I'm all strung out on heroin On the outskirts of town Well, I'm sittin' here playing solitaire With my pearl-handled deck The county won't give me no more methadone And they cut off your welfare check Carmelita hold me tighter I think I'm sinking down And I'm all strung out on heroin On the outskirts of town Well, I pawned my Smith Corona And I went to meet my man He hangs out down on Alvarado Street By the Pioneer chicken stand Carmelita hold me tighter I think I'm sinking down And I'm all strung out on heroin On the outskirts of town
  10. Both of these are less obscure (I think). Especially the second one. Any ideas?
  11. Living In The Past is a cool driving/cruising song (sounds great in the car). Stand Up has always been my personal favorite Tull Album Original Masters gives a good overview of Jethro Tull.
  12. Thanks dingo! I'm a San Francisco Bay Area native, so it's got to be Earth Quake's version I heard on Northern California FM stations. There are so many great local favorite artists that had varying degrees of limited success nationwide. The Sons of Champlin (Freedom, Get High, etc.) Lydia Pense and Cold Blood (Down To The Bone, Under Pressure) Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks (Where's The Money?) The Loading Zone with Linda Tillery "Sweet Linda Divine" (Don't Lose Control [Of Your Soul] ) The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils (Too Hot To Handle, All Tore Down) Greg Kihn Band (The Break Up Song [They Don't Write 'Em Like That Anymore], Jeopardy)
  13. Yes, edna! They are all from songs on the John Wesley Harding album specifically. I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine The Ballad of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest I Am A Lonsome Hobo The Wicked Messenger I might have added (I Pity)The Poor Immigrant and Dear Landlord, as well. Now edna, do your damnedest!
  14. U2, The O'Jays, and The Pretenders were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame this year. Google did make that one too easy. OK edna, I don't think this one should take any research for you. [*] St. Augustine [*] Frankie Lee [*] Judas Priest [*] A Lonesome Hobo [*] The Wicked Messenger
  15. You are correct, Laurie! 4 different songs with the same title. C'mon, you gamesters. Get on board this merry-go-round.
  16. I been wondering too. Sorry to hear you're Google-disabled. I'd be lost without it. How do they think I come up with this stuff, or solve any of them? Some Songfactors seem to consider Googling to be cheating, somehow unethical, dishonest or lazy. I say use every tool available. It makes you 'smarter' about problem-solving in all sorts of ways. Anyway, you're on the right trail with matching songs, but Crash isn't the title in common.
  17. [*] David Byrne [*] Dave Matthews Band [*] The Rolling Stones [*] Toots and The Maytals
