  1. 's true, it's impossible to get a wrong answer in psych EXCEPT WHEN ALL YOUR EXAMINERS ARE INTOLERANT FREUDIANS I mean just because I suggested treating mood disorders with ECT, chiz chiz chiz it's been proven to work and everything.
  2. Astrology is to science what psychoanalysis is to psychology i.e. a zit.
  3. Not only does it make telephone calls it lets you ANSWER THEM AS WELL unlike the iPhone and its screenfreeze
  4. Soz, I'm late with my response. Both are open source yes, but Symbian has some... not flaws, but disadvantages: 1. There are barely any apps at all for Symbian. 2. No one runs Symbian but Nokia 3. Nokia is soon going to be phasing out Symbian and replacing it with the better Maemo. By Maemo being 'better' I mean in terms of functionality and stability, but not responsiveness. For that iOS and Android are definitely superior It has a couple of advantages though - it can multitask and I've never had an app crash on me in Symbian. It also has the best battery life. But if you want your phone to be a mini computer - and you want it to be responsive and functional, I'd suggest Android. Or even the Windows phone, that's supposed to be good from the early reviews I've read. If you're more about supersharp aesthetics, and prefer it to be a toy - something to play games on, then iOS is the way to go. Android is no good for games, but I am perfectly happy with its friendly looks. And if you're talking brands, something else Nokia and HTC have that destroys the iPhone utterly is that if you drop your iPhone you destroy it utterly. My HTC is shock-resistant and I've mistreated my Nokia more than it deserves and it still stubbornly goes on. Cellphones are in people's hands a lot and people are clumsy. I appreciate it when manufacturers remember that.
  5. I have an HTC Wildfire and am avidly anti-Apple. ANDROID 4 LYF. heck I'd even pick Symbian before I went iOS
  6. Turn on two. Then turn off one after 5 minutes. Go into lightbulb room. You will have: 1. On Lightbulb 2. Warm Lightbulb 3. Off Lightbulb
  7. oh lol @ me - fridge... cool... see what I did thar?
  8. Opera doesn't need extensions because it has everything built in. Only in the latest version IT THREW IN EXTENSIONS ANYWAY. As if I wasn't happy enough it had a fridge. And a web server.
  9. Gawd you singer/songwriter types and your love of St. Vincent who is made only more indiely attractive by the androgyny of her name and her album's name. And I don't like enunciation either! #shoegaze4lyf
  10. WRONG Opera pwns EVERY BROWSER EVER it has A FRIDGE BUILT IN DAMMIT you don't get more cool than that.
  11. ogod what's happened to Amicae :'(
  12. These nominations are all wrong, everyone (except Pitchfork and even they knew it till they were attacked by manic Radioinbred fans) knows Loveless is the best album of the 1990s.
  13. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD THROW AWAY FIVE YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP FOR A RADIOBEHEAD NOMINATION!!!!111!! :grrr: :argh:
  14. What rubbish I log in at least once a day.
  15. Someone is bonkers enough to like me enough to give me an iPhone without me asking for one. I don't even like iPhones and I have raged bitterly against it shoving my hand far, far down the gift horse's gullet. They still seem to like me, so I'll go along with it. Damn iPhones.
  16. We heard Heathen Child in the car yesterday. What a series of ups and downs. It starts of SO WELL and that lasts about 5 seconds and then it plummets into somethibng DREADFUL and then it desperately tries to redeem itself. It's quite the facial-expression rollercoaster, I'm not sure what to make of it since it's not bad but has the potential to be REALLY good and just ruins it with those first couple of minutes.
  17. Hang on - someone in this conversation didn't go see their favourite band because they didn't want to go ALONE? I see how 'favourite' they are I go to shows on my own fairly often because - hey - I go for the music, not for the company. A friend of mine makes a 1.5 hour drive into the city to catch a 2 hour set played by a handful of local bands on the weekend then makes the 1.5 hour drive back or crashes at a friend's in the city. She doesn't care she's alone, she loves the music. Yer, we're both girls too, and not scared of the dark.
  18. You know BACK IN THE DAY when this thread first cropped up as a place for people to put things in perspective and appreciate what they have and count their blessings I never ever expected it to turn into Passive-Aggression Central. Jeez, First World, go LIVE.

    Silversun Pickups

Extra lucky because this is their only headline show in Australia - their first in three years. The entire country is pulling a WTF-face because they're on tour here as a SUPPORT (WTF?!) for Birds of Tokyo who I have never heard but have been told are as sh*t as their name.
  20. I saw them on Tuesday. A sold out show - I was lucky to get a ticket but then I did but it the very instant the dates were announced. I knew every song, it's probably only the second gig I've managed that. The first being A Place To Bury Strangers. It was great. Except when I walked out and heard people awkwardly struggling with the word 'shoegaze' and equating it to BJM. Amateurs. I couldn't bear to have to listen to the n00bs, so I ran away. Great show though. Who knew I'd ever get to see SSPU? I certainly didn't
