Need Suggestions for my 5th grade daughter yearbook message
_Laurie_ replied to Rochelle16's topic in Questions and Answers
Hi Rochelle, welcome to Songfacts!.... I've always loved the lyrics to Forever Young by Bob Dylan...any of these verses would be good... Music May God's bless and keep you always May your wishes all come true May you always do for others And let others do for you May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung May you stay Forever young Forever young Forever young May you stay Forever young May you grow up to be righteous May you grow up to be true May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you May you always be courageous Stand upright and be strong And may you stay Forever young Forever young Forever young May you stay Forever young May your hands always be busy May your feet always be swift May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift May your heart always be joyful May your song always be sung And may you stay Forever young Forever young Forever young May you stay Forever young And Rod Stewarts version...love these lyrics also... May the Good Lord be with ya down every road you roam And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home And may you grow to be proud, dignified, and true And do unto others as you would have done to you Be courageous and be brave And in my heart you'll always stay Forever young (forever young) Forever young (forever young) May good fortune be with you, may your guiding light be strong Build a stairway to heaven with a prince or a bag of bones And may you never love in vain And in my heart you will remain Forever young (forever young) Forever young (forever young) For ever young For ever young Yeah! <instrumental interlude> And when you fin'lly fly away I'll be hopin' that I served ya well For all the wisdom of a lifetime no one can ever tell But whatever road ya choose I'm right behind you, win or lose Forever young (forever young) Forever young (forever young)- 4 replies

Okay, If anything else comes to mind I'll post it. There is a thread here with songs about old flames. I'll see if I can find it.

Could it be this one?

Same Old Lang Syne ~ Dan Fogelberg Perfect song for the holiday season Met my old lover in the grocery store The snow was falling Christmas Eve I stood behind her in the frozen foods And I touched her on the sleeve She didn't recognize the face at first But then her eyes flew open wide She went to hug me and she spilled her purse And we laughed until we cried We took her groceries to the check out stand The food was totaled up and bagged We stood there lost in our embarrassment As the conversation lagged We went to have ourselves a drink or two But couldn't find an open bar We bought a six-pack at the liquor store And we drank it in her car We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to now We tried to reach beyond the emptiness But neither one knew how She said she's married her an architect Who kept her warm and safe and dry She would have liked to say she loved the man But she didn't like to lie I said the years had been a friend to her And that her eyes were still as blue But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw Doubt or gratitude She said she saw me in the record stores And that I must be doing well I said the audience was heavenly But the traveling was Hell We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to now We tried to reach beyond the emptiness But neither one knew how We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to time Reliving, in our eloquence Another "Auld Lang Syne" The beer was empty and our tongues were tired And running out of things to say She gave a kiss to me as I got out And I watched her drive away Just for a moment I was back at school And felt that old familiar pain And, as I turned to make my way back home The snow turned into rain.....

I bought hubby a NY Giants winter hat, Mets T-shirt, and a NY Rangers travel coffee mug.

Sweet!...the biggest prize I have ever won on a radio station was a Bahama Cruise....It was awesome!....I won tickets to Bruce Springsteen once but found out on the last minute while I was at work...so mad I missed out on that. Now that he is going to be in Rochester again, tickets go for 175 bucks on up....I'd love to see him, but that's crazy that tickets are that much..so I guess again, I won't be seeing him...oh well.

Conversation with hubby... Me: " I watched the movie 50 Shades Of Grey the other night and don't know what all the hype was about. I didn't care for it at all. Hubby: Oh is that like a sequel to the movie The Color Purple? Me: (shaking my head) "not exactly"

Definitely a classic that I also look forward to seeing to this day. I also introduced my girls to these holiday classics. I'm so glad they continue to air these shows so kids today can enjoy them also. Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorites, and of course The Great Pumpkin was cute too.
