  4. I admit of having a snobbish and a subtle demoralizing obtrusive attitude (but underlined that only a few would pick up) years ago and then only to have it fly back in my face. In a common sense, it's not my character but we've all had our share of 'net' interactions that seeped under our skin and bursted that bubble. And like the majority of post-'net' users, its a regret but no sense bogging yourself down over past indifferences, etc. Gosh can I ramble on or what? If there is one trait that I despise about people on the net is that they don't share and/or acknowledge what's out there ie, they've found a site with lots of info about bands, music, card tricks, the best toilet paper, etc. And the idiotic immature reasoning behind it is simple - "I know something that you don't." Gosh, what retarded mentality but it exists! My theory is this - if its out there on the 'net', why the act of coverting? Share it you *******! lol Okay, enough of babbling. I have a gift for you all if you want to spend that time learning more about FZ. On, its not a bibliography or another but its broken down to what many of those idiosyncrasies may mean. Just go here -> http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/lyrics/ Then click any album. It will take you to all the credits, song titles and length, lyrics, year recorded, who played on what, etc. But that's not all. Right below each song title: Previous | Top | Notes & Comments | Songlist | Next Just click "notes & comments" and you'll find quite interesting facts. Although some of the facts may be hearsay, its still interesting. AND, the majority of info are from fans. It doesn't stop there either. There is another link that will list all the albums for each individual track. Once again -> http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/lyrics/ Save it in your favourites!
  5. I really can't stand every time I'm at the checkout counter be it any store, I'm asked "Did you find everything you're looking for?" I #&%%* can't stand that - hello? Did you ever stop to think perhaps I would of asked a store associate before proceeding to final checkout? I know they've been told by their superiors to enquiry but I think its totally useless. A few times I have asked a few things just to see the reaction. And all those times, the checkout person just continued ringing in the items pretending herself like she didn't care (like me). Okay, it doesn't bother me that much but I'm sure it gets under the skin of others.
  6. Wow! I know an old post but I really hope nobody thinks I have that same mentality. Sorry folks if I have come across like some wannabe know-it-all. Anyway, Zappa fan myself. Unfortunately, the only time I really cared for this album was during my young adolescent years. But over time, it just doesn't do much for me except "Do You Like My New Car?" I have my reasons but just don't feel like explaining at moment - too lazy to type. lol Pete
  7. Bought it just for "That 70's Show" since I have the rest of the tracks on other albums. I know I could of found that track on the net but the CD was really cheap.
  8. Name a band/artist you love but find most people don't own any their albums let alone heard of them. Architecture in Helsinki Big Star Codeine Delta Goodrem [at least here in the States, anyway] Edmunds, Dave Fat Matress Galactic Cowboys (I've met very few fans on the net and nobody in person) Hellacopters Ironhorse Johnny's Dance Band KMFDM (German industrial band) Love Marvelous 3 (one of Butch Walker's former bands) Nyro, Laura Operation Ivy (80's punk band before changing name to Rancid) Peter Moon Band, The (Hawaii) Quicksilver Messenger Service RYAN ADAMS Sterne, Die (obscure even in Germany) Tortoise (important 90's post-rock band) Unforeseen (my best friend's band, I helped with the producing of their album) Varèse, Edgard (modern classical) Walkmen, The XYZ (hair metal band) Yoko Ono Zebra There, I filled the last two. Next poster starts new one.
  9. Good selections this time around. I like to add... "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck And, you dudes/dudettes just don't have enough of Canadian content in your charts. We are a country ya know. "I Will Still Love You" by Stonebolt
  10. I think its more or less a joke unless that mag has really changed over the years. Although its been years when I quit collecting Guitar World and Guitar for the Practicing Musician mags, it was rare if at all that they did articles on negative guitar playing. If this is quite real, then I'll have to say the respect is gone. For example: 53. Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music [entire double album] - why on earth was that even mentioned? Does anyone know about this album? Take my advice - DO NOT PURCHASE NOR LISTEN! I don't see the reasoning why it was included. The people who do know this album would understand. 1. Poison - Guitar Solo - why pick on a live recorded guitar solo? 5. The Beatles - All You Need Is Love - the explanation that most are satisfied with is that George's guitar somehow was disconnected part way through the track. Or, the amp gave out. Or was it the guitar cord? lol, but it was a technical issue and NOT George's playing. 34. David Lee Roth - Yankee Rose - I'm not finding fault with this one but Steve Vai's playing was so influenced by Frank Zappa that of course that style and such just didn't sound right to DLR's tunes. Steve is a great player and I happen to really like this solo. I don't understand why they chose this one. 36. Molly Hatchet - Gator Country - this one was confusing. Just like the Allman Brothers, MH's guitarists tended to play similar solos in every other track. But why this one? This is one of MH's better tracks. I think these dudes are just naming prominent guitar bands and pulling tracks out of a hat. 61. Living Colour - Cult of Personality - as another poster already commented and I'd like to add, this track is ferocious. Yes, Vernon does a lot of hits and misses in those fast hammer-ons/pull-off runs but I'm pretty sure that that was the intention. 81. Nazareth - Hair of the Dog - Another 'talk box' solo. I think the dudes here just don't like that effect. 83. Joe Satriani - Cryin' - this one pretty well sums it up that if these dudes are serious, then they don't know a freakin' thing about emotional guitar playing. Man does Joe make his guitar 'cry' near the end. The song is called Cryin' dudes! 86. The Beatles - If You've Got Troubles - this is just a joke. It was never officially released until the Anthology but still, why would this even be included since the Beatles themselves felt it wasn't worthy for release? Those editors have no idea. Again, it could be all a list in jest. 97. Disturbed - Down with the Sickness - I don't even think there is a guitar solo. Well, that's enough.
  11. I figured you would think sarcasm on my side considering my #1 choice (Sugar, Sugar). I have a definite penchant for bubblegum music. Pete

  13. Lately, I've been playing the ******* out of Cheap Trick's "That 70's Show Theme" and Galactic Cowboy's version of Paul McCartney's "Junior's Farm." Actually, "That 70's Show Theme" is really a cover of Big Star's "In the Streets." And right now, I'm actually playing that Big Star track.
  14. No offense my good friend but that has to be the band's most annoying song evah! There are only a few tunes I know that can literally turn my stomach and that's one of them. We're still cool though right? Anyway, this was excruciating hard. So many tracks could or should be in this list but since only 10, here goes... 1) Sugar, Sugar - The Archies (1969) 2) Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meat Loaf (1977) 3) 2,000 Light Years From Home - The Rolling Stones (1967) 4) Teacher - Jethro Tull (1970) 5) Rock With You - Michael Jackson (1979) 6) Slow Ride - Foghat (1975) 7) You Didn't Have To Be So Nice - The Lovin' Spoonful (1965) 8) Wedding Bell Blues - The 5th Dimension (1969) 9) Ten Years Gone - Led Zeppelin (1975) 10) Any Time At All - The Beatles (1964)
  15. Only 2 selections I picked that made the top 10 with one of them not all that great. I sure love diversity but meh on this list. Its all cool though.
  16. In the Who's "You Better You Bet," T. Rex is mentioned. Also, "Who's Next" is mentioned kind of slyly.
  17. I finished it earlier today and I give it a thumbs up. Hilarious in some scenes, especially that whole ordeal at his girlfriend's house. I can't exactly recall the quotes but when Seth says to his g/f, "Now, go downtown to the Days Inn hotel, and check in as the... Garagelys." LMFAO! I think I pissed myself when he said "Garagelys." lol Ooops, that may of been a spoiler. Okay, if didn't see it, there is a reason why he said "Garagelys." lol
  18. And isn't it always Tank (or whoever) that keeps an eye on everyone who's into the Matrix? Another hole in story.
