  1. One Fine Morning - Lighthouse (1971) Endless Wire - Gordon Lightfoot (1978) The Cisco Kid - War (1972)
  2. Oh, I get it. This is going to be one of those "ZOMG OBAMA GUNNA TAKE UR GUNZ AWAY!!111!" threads, right?
  3. It also takes a lot longer to make homemade tacos than it is to drive to Taco Hell and buy the "Blow Out Your Colon" special, but when I make them myself, I use better ingredients, it ends up costing me less money, and I feel better about myself in the end. Sometimes it's worth it to learn how to make things you love yourself rather than relying on pre-packaged, pre-processed crap. Edit: I just realized I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not, but in any event, it is better if you can learn to make the junk food you like at home, as you can make it better.
  4. Chocolate ganache. Equal parts chocolate chips and heavy cream.
  5. Make them yourself. Make some chocolate cupcakes. Make a chocolate ganache to go on top. Make a vanilla buttercream to pipe in the middle and to make the design on the top. There. Done.
  6. What I've found most repugnant about this whole thing is the number of people crying and wringing their hands because they can't stuff their faces with Twinkies and Wonder Bread anymore, not the fact that 18,000 people just lost their jobs. No wonder this country has an obesity problem. Junk food and white bread are two of the worst things to shove in your gaping maw.
  7. I just got back from my hairdresser; I had about 9-10 inches of hair chopped off. Now it's layered, just up to my shoulders, and doesn't feel like a ton of dead weight on my neck. Yay!
  8. 1. He's a Rebel - The Crystals (1962) 2. It Hurts To Be In Love - Gene Pitney (1964) 3. Maybe I Know - Lesley Gore (1964) 4. Let It Down - George Harrison (1970) 5. Nobody But Me - The Human Beinz (1967) 6. Don't Do It - The Band (1972) 7. Sunday Morning - The Velvet Underground (1967) 8. Sweet Tuesday Morning - Badfinger (1971) 9. Love Has No Pride - Bonnie Raitt (1972) 10. Photograph - Def Leppard (1983)
  9. If all you're going to a concert for is to hear a specific group of songs, that seems like wasted money. You just put the album(s) on and have people scream and cheer while they're playing.
  10. If you're spending money to see an artist you love live, you should appreciate hearing whatever they feel like playing that night. Of course we all want to hear certain songs, but the artist shouldn't feel obligated to perform them if they don't want to. They're the ones on stage, they're the ones that have to do it. If you did a song that doesn't reflect your values anymore (as is the case of the Beastie Boys), or were huge on the radio (as is the case with a lot of Springsteen songs), or you just plain can't stand the sound of, you shouldn't have to force yourself to perform it because someone, somewhere will pitch a fit if you don't. We're paying them for the honor of seeing them do their craft for us. Whatever they feel like sharing with us in that experience should be enough.
  11. I think the issue boils down to expectations. We as the audience have no right, I believe, to expect the artist to play anything. If I go see Bruce Springsteen and I expect to hear Glory Days and he doesn't play it, do I have the right to get upset? It's his concert, his set list, my opinions are not asked for, nor are the opinions of anyone else. That's why I said before, if you buy a concert ticket expecting to hear certain songs and you don't hear them and then get mad, that's not the artist's fault. That's your fault for taking it that seriously in the first place.
  12. I would debate Like A Virgin being Madonna's biggest hit. Material Girl, Vogue, Like A Prayer, and Take a Bow are all equally as well-known and well-regarded, if not more so.
  13. He's a Rebel - The Crystals (1962) It Hurts To Be In Love - Gene Pitney (1964) Maybe I Know - Lesley Gore (1964)
  14. It's 71F and sunny here right now. Absolutely bone-chilling. ;-)
  15. 1. Two Tickets To Paradise - Eddie Money (1978) 2. Devil Woman - Cliff Richard (1976) 3. Babe - Styx (1979) 4. Over You - Gary Puckett and the Union Gap (1968) 5. I Know You Got Soul - Eric B. and Rakim (1987) 6. Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) - Cinderella (1987) 7. Look Of Love, The - Dusty Springfield (1967) 8. Hysteria - Muse (2003) 9. I'm Losing You - John Lennon (1980) 10. Subdivisions - Rush (1982)
  16. GUARANTEE the spin coming out of this is that Romney wasn't conservative enough, and they're going to tack even further to the right. Watch for Rick Santorum to get the nod in 2016.
  17. BTW, we elected our first disabled Senator, our first openly gay Senator, and our first Asian Senator, and there are 20 women now in the Senate proper. The GOP can take their regressive policies and shove it.
  18. Todd Akin was defeated as well, so that's 0-2 on the "Rape" agenda for the GOP.
  19. I put all my faith in Nate Silver. This the 2nd Presidential election he has accurately predicted, down to the electoral vote count and popular vote percentage. He also did very well in the 2012 midterms. If Nate said Obama was going to win, there was never any doubt.
  20. Nah, I just happened to notice that on my registration form we had to sign to verify our information, the election worker wrote #200 on it.
  21. Already did. Got my little sticker and everything. I was the 200th person to vote at my polling place today.
  22. 1983... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) Jimi Hendrix Found on the album Electric Ladyland, it features Chris Wood of Traffic playing the flute, and clocks in at over 13 minutes long, making it the 2nd longest song Jimi Hendrix and the Experience released, behind Voodoo Chile. Hendrix played all the instruments on the track, with the exception of drums and flute, played by Mitch Mitchell and Chris Wood respectively. Information taken from Wikipedia
  23. Why don't you just fill out all 20 at one time instead of responding to yourself over and over again?
