Presently -28C, with wind chill, it feels more like -39C. I read in the paper that we were colder than the North Pole on Sunday. The cold snap started on Dec.13 and it hasn't let up.

What movies came on during Christmastime when you were a kid? And what movies are shown now? I remember Sound Of Music and Slipper & The Rose (a Cinderella story/musical starring Richard Chamberlain). These days, Christmas wouldn't be complete without watching A Christmas Story (with main character Ralphie) at least once.

Zack and Miri Make A Porno. It had a few laughs, but overall, not my kind of movie. 6/10

We're finally getting into the cold temps this week; it's -14C with a windchill that makes it feel more like -22C. Brrr! It's a strange winter for us; there is hardly any snow on the ground and November was unseasonably warm.

My husband is making waffles for breakfast. Seeker, I generally don't buy Haagen Daz, but the really cheap ice cream you can buy here is utter crap. It comes in 4 liter pails and if you leave it out by mistake, it doesn't melt like natural ice cream. There are so many chemicals and emulsifiers in it that it no longer has the properties of the regular stuff.

Marc, I don't recall being told about any possible risks. This might be a generality on my part, but I assume the United States is more litigious than Canada, so it would be very important to deal with risk in your country. Quite frankly, I would have been open to just about any pain relief...I'm a bit of a wimp.

Marc, I've never heard about anyone with complications from an epidural. I had epidurals with all three of my kids. The only incident I had was the tube that was delivering the medication got dislodged and was dripping on the floor rather than into me.
