  1. That song was a crossover hit for him. It was played a great deal on country radio when it came out and still is occasionally. The video,as seen on the clip posted, was and is seen on CMT,so I think it is considered to be somewhat country. Always loved the song.
  2. Certainly a form of country and a great song.
  3. I got so many things to say about this, that I can't narrow it down to just a couple. I'll think about it some more and come back later.
  4. I need a thermometer for the turkey I am cooking next week for Thanksgiving. Which kind do I get?? The oral or the rectal???
  5. Great to see Rare Earth at the top. I saw them in concert sometime in the early 80's at a small club and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Also happy to see "King Of The Road" make it. Love that song. Great list.
  6. Like,I think, if you are talking about those big, hairy ox-like creatures. And if so,what's not to like?? Muskrat Love
  7. And what about those hungry, hungry hippo's and the monkee's in those barrels?? And the lions, tigers and bears,oh my! And on a related note,I sure hope there isn't going to be a sequel of "A Night In Paris" called "A Night In Paris II:Dumbo's Revenge".
  8. As someone who is often the butt of jokes,I am tired of this thread.
  9. In Reba's early years she was considered to be a traditional country singer. She was very popular within the "Nashville establishment" because of it. She was often found hosting country award shows and being a spokesperson for country music as a whole. However, around the time of the late 80's,early 90's,Reba began to branch out a little and also she began her "big hair/big production" style concerts and because of that, she somewhat fell out of favour with the powers to be of Nashville. It got to the point that even her music, which was still very good, wasn't being nominated for awards and her hosting days were over for awhile. To some who maybe didn't follow country music all that much,it did appear that she had almost fallen off the country music map. But she was still very busy doing concerts and making music as well as Broadway shows and of course her TV show. Reba today is once again getting the respect she deserves because of the changes within country music. No question,Reba has played a huge part in the success of country music over the past 15-20 years.
  10. Well she is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That has to count for somethin'.
  11. Actually I like the race-car driver. I don't want the spice girl to win because I think her singing and dancing all these years gives her an advantage. I like Jennie Garth but I think she is a bundle of nerves and it's beginning to show. I like watching Marie but the other three are way ahead of her and she needs to go. But I will miss Edyta!!
  12. Try Martina McBride's "Love's The Only House".
  13. Well I was sure surprised to see that I didn't make the list....Again.
  14. Well actually I thought it was the other way around.
  15. Well I have been at times on here but, well, anyway,I am trying to do better.
  16. I was thinking that but was afraid to say it.
  17. Think 50% is a little low as far as the Pats chances of winning the Super Bowl. And for somebody like myself who is a fan of Cincinnati pro sports,I must say that I envy the good people of Boston with all they have to root for in that town.
  18. Marie sure has had a rough time the past couple of weeks. Her father passed away last week now this. But I think the sympathy vote has kept her on "Dancing" and as a devoted viewer of that show I felt she should have went this week. Also I am a little p-o'd that because Marie didn't get voted off, that caused Edyta to go. And Edyta was the only reason I watched the show to begin with.
  19. I hate those "exits only" on the interstates where you take an exit but you can't get back on the freeway. And what is the difference between a freeway,a highway and a biway?
  20. The word "ho" is used a lot today so looks like just about anybody can sue anybody for using it or saying it in that case. Just think people are taking this PC crap a bit too far. They need to get a life and move on.
  21. Other duet partners include Justin Timberlake,Don Henley and Carol King. Plus other country artists.
  22. Reba just had a huge hit with Kelly Clarkson called "Because Of You". It's on her newest CD titled "Reba:Duets".
  23. There is no question that the movie "Urban Cowboy" and its soundtack were huge for country music. It got people who would have never listened to country music otherwise, listening to it. But there were those in the country music industry that didn't like what it brought to the table because it was "un-traditional". And there is no question that some of the music that followed "Urban Cowboy" was pretty bad. But what it did was open up the minds of some of the record labels that country music could be a little non-traditional and different but still sell. Without "Urban Cowboy" some of the great artists of the 80's who changed country music may have never got their chance. Artists like Dwight Yoakam,Alabama,Reba,Garth Brooks and others.
