  2. Laundry. I always wait until I've worn everything I own... Name the food you hate despite the many who claim to love it.
  3. I hate seeing this thread die. Since I've been sharing my poetry with certain people on FB and leaving some around town I've decided to share with anyone interested. Why publish when the end goal is the same as what I've already been doing? I never did want to make money from this, so social sites work best. Enjoy! The Last Light Trapped Between darkness and the abyss of deep sea Freedom From my unknown captor I desperately seek Silenced Voices I had to spread these words Blinded My eyes which looked upon evil worlds Longing For unknown talons to loosen their grip Holding My position trying not to slip Relieved Finally noticing a small breach in heavy keeper's wall Hoping To reach it before I'm swallowed by sea's squall Glowing My last light will shine for a short time this day Glistening Red light of my eye along clear waters of a calm bay
  4. I know, right? I was surprised there were NO Duke songs! Especially that one! 1 It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) – Duke Ellington and his Orchestra 2 Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah) – Joan Jett & The Blackhearts 3 Heavy Metal – Sammy Hagar 4 She–La – 54–40 5 I Want To Break Free – Queen 6 Rock And Roll Heaven – The Righteous Brothers 7 If I Ever Lose My Faith In You – Sting 8 When You Rock and Roll With Me – David Bowie 9 Aja – Steely Dan 10 Make Me Lose Control - Eric Carmen
  5. Yeah, it occurred to me after I'd posted that Auzzie's probably didn't get much in the way of motown & southern blues, etc. As even Canucks didn't hear every American band. Vice-versa as well, which is the case in Australia as well I presume. Even today there are musicians who can't seem to "cross-over" and only have a following in their own country. Which makes SF so great: different musical tastes from around the world sharing these unknown sounds!
  6. To be honest, I'm not sure why the 18+ disclaimer is added to your nomination tag. There's alot worse seen by young kids today. This is extremely tame by today's standards...
  7. Ina-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly and now: still the same song and now: ...still going
  8. Brad Pitt P B
  9. ABBA "Rapture"
  10. Joan Jett ROCKS!!! I grew up with '80's metal and she was my fave! Got my vote! And Darryl, I also loved the comment!
  11. We couldn't afford anything like that either. Although through 40 years I've never had children to look after, perhaps that gives me an edge on looking back at the wonderful music I wasn't a part of. Soul, blues, swing & jazz come to mind. I had the time to keep up with current music trends as well (steering clear of rap, boy bands and techno-dance!) I really do wish I was born 15 - 30 yrs earlier. Todays music is just not really original to my ears. Every song is beginning to sound alike. When there appears a unique sound it invariably shows itself as a re-make of a classic. You're lucky to have experienced some of those wonderful songs as they rung through the speakers of the radio for the first time!

  13. Top Ten Reasons You Didn't Make A New Year's Resolution This Year 10. Because last year I resolved to lose 10 pounds, and instead I gained 30. 9. Not making a resolution is the easiest one to keep I've made. 8. I don't like wasting my own time. 7. I'm still working on my resolutions set back in 1999. 6. I still can't think of any that I would want to do. 5. I keep putting things off. Maybe next year... 4. 3. 2. 1.
  14. And a Happy New Year to you as well! You are correct (as is normally the case) about the re-issue. The re-issue of "Back In Black" had "What Do You Do For Money Honey" in certain countries & others had "Shoot To Thrill". I also discovered that some extended singles had "Back In Black" on both sides. One studio version & the live version on side "B". The "A" side had roughly 15 seconds of silence then a single guitar (Malcolm) playing a faint tune (claimed to be "Ride On", but I've never heard it) for about a minute to fill the void due to the lengthier live "B" side. If nothing else, this error on my part has just opened up a new can of worms.
  15. Sign Of The Gypsy Queen - April Wine and now: Turbo Lover - Judas Priest
  16. Everyone should know this one! My 3rd nom (surprised he hasn't had a single song voted in!) It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) - Duke Ellington and his orchestra (1931)
  17. "Back In Black" was the B-side to "What Do You Do For Money Honey?" and was a bust in Australia, peaking at #65. The song reached #37 on Billboard "Hot 100" and #1 on US "Hard Rock". 31 years after it's release it hit #27 (#1 on Rock & Metal) in the UK. The song reached #28 in Scotland. This was AC/DC's first single to chart so low in Australia yet chart higher than most other AC/DC singles in every other country.
  18. Unsound - Headstones

  20. Goldfinger Name your arcade high-score initials
  21. It's about time!! :partytime1: She-La - 54-40 (1992) Heavy Metal - Sammy Hagar (1981) On a side note: Black Stone Cherry isn't in artist list for "Blind Man" which is in song list... or is it the other way around? It's only on 1 list anyway. Just a head's up
