  1. In honor of The Office's win I changed my avatar and signature to reflect one of the greatest TV characters of all time, assistant (to the)regional manager, Dwight K. Shrute.
  2. There's a lot of Dylan I skip, but I really love what I don't skip.
  3. Shawna, I have decided to follow that same policy, but then I think of other ways I could make the CDs, so I remake them, then I think of songs I missed, so I make more. My apartment is going to be nothing but CDs soon.
  4. Peachy, I know you loves you some Arrested Development, but I am over the moon at The Office Win. I protested the Emmys a bit because Lauren Graham was not nominated for Gilmore Girls, but hells ya Mariska!
  5. Rem's The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight sends me into spasms of annoyance.
  6. I saw a recent pic of Brigette Bardot. Time has NOT been kind.
  7. Darryl, think of those beautiful grand kids who love you so much. You will get better because they need you. I send you my very best thoughts and wishes.
  8. I heard Kristen from E! say Michael is gone for good. I don't know if she meant the actor left the show, or if Michael is off the island.
  9. Jack White. He's pasty and down right cadaverous, but I totally dig him.
  10. Group-The Beatles and R.E.M. Solo Artists-Ryan Adams and Sara McLachlan
  11. Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why don't we? Ebony And Ivory--Paul McCartney Word Up: fiesty
  12. We've talked about our teen crushes, now let's talk about the crushes we have on those who may not be "conventionally" attractive, yet some how they drive us ga ga. Mine: David Letterman-it's the glasses and the gap between the teeth. And he's sarcastic. Elvis Costello-gap, glasses, sarcastic, and British (sigh!) Ricky Gervais-funny, British, has beautiful teeth and the best laugh I've ever heard John Astin-those Gomez Adams pinstripe suits, and, he can tango Tim Curry-British with a great voice.
  13. Other Dead lyrics I like: Sometimes the cards ain't worth a dime if you don't lay them down--Truckin' I live in a paradise and I call it Pagan's Tomb--Uncle John's Band She's a summer love in the spring, fall and winter/She can make happy any man alive--Sugar Magnolia Wishing well with a golden bell, bucket hanging clear to hell/Hell halfway twixt now and then--St. Stephen
  14. My favorite Dead Song is Box of Rain. That song never fails to make me feel better. Look out of any window any morning, any evening, any day Maybe the sun is shining birds are winging or rain is falling from a heavy sky - What do you want me to do, to do for you to see you through? this is all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago Walk out of any doorway feel your way, feel your way like the day before Maybe you'll find direction around some corner where it's been waiting to meet you - What do you want me to do, to watch for you while you're sleeping? Well please don't be surprised when you find me dreaming too Look into any eyes you find by you, you can see clear through to another day I know it's been seen before through other eyes on other days while going home -- What do you want me to do, to do for you to see you through? It's all a dream we dreamed one afternoon long ago Walk into splintered sunlight Inch your way through dead dreams to another land Maybe you're tired and broken Your tongue is twisted with words half spoken and thoughts unclear What do you want me to do to do for you to see you through A box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through Just a box of rain - wind and water - Believe it if you need it, if you don't just pass it on Sun and shower - Wind and rain - in and out the window like a moth before a flame It's just a box of rain I don't know who put it there Believe it if you need it or leave it if you dare But it's just a box of rain or a ribbon for your hair Such a long long time to be gone and a short time to be there
  15. MARK IS AWESOME!! Thanks for the link. Mr. Costello always makes me happy
  16. I agree with the Adrien Brody thing. I like his smile.
  17. According to Abbey Road to Zapple Records: A Beatles Encyclopedia, John wanted a rock song, so they recorded an upbeat version with electric guitars and drums, but the song ended up sounding more raucous than introspective. They enlisted the help of an orchestra, but John didn't like those results either. Geroge Martin sped up the slower one by 5% so it corresponded to the key and tempo of the other version, and the two tapes were combined 60 seconds into the song. SFF is supposedly the song that has "I buried Paul" subliminally at the end, but John claims he was saying "Cranberry Sauce." Another theory, though not true, is that Strawberry Fields refer to the track marks on a junkie's arm.
  18. I think I remember seeing Sir George Martin saying he took the master tapes of the two versions, cut them into pieces, threw them in the air, then randomly reassembled the tape, and that's how the song came together.
  19. Kevin, do you have a thing for angora?
  20. Mags, I loved Jordan Knight like nothing else in the world. I loved-Chad Allen, who has come out, the Coreys, who were hard core addicts, and River Phoenix, who OD'd. Yeah, I didn't have good judgement, just lots of hormones. The only teen crush that has stayed constant is my crush on Johnny Depp. I loved him when I was 12: I will still love him when I'm 112.
  21. Someone opened up a closet door and out stepped Johnny B. Goode Garden Party--Rick Nelson Word Up: Motivate
  22. Let's Stay Together is my favorite love song of all time ever! The Grant Lee Buffalo cover of We've Only Just Begun is pretty fantastic. It's just a classic wedding song.
  23. I stole this thread from Snopes forums and changed it from movies to music. What music must your potential mate love or hate? For me, I will never date any one who doesn't like The Beatles, or some one who listens to rap, country, or Celine Dion.
