  1. Get steak, good steak, and slice it thin, then cook until it's done. You can also buy pre-sliced steak in some stores. Some people use provolone for cheese and melt it on top, but I find it better if you put provolone on the sides of the roll (a sub/hoagie roll) and then melt/heat Cheese Wiz and put it on top. I am also a firm believer in onions, which you cook on a griddle or in a pan until they're done, and then give yourself a generous helping. Sorry that I don't know the cooking times, but that's mostly all that is involved. Perhaps Joe, being from the Cheesesteak Capital of the World, could add some more advice, and then tell me what I do wrong.
  2. Well it got rained out. We waited about 3 hours but did get a free preview of "The Philly Phinatic Goes Hollywood."
  3. Gino's has some of the best food I have ever had. Ever. I went to a Philly's game and then went to Gino's and ate three cheesesteaks and two cheesefries, and then bought two more of each to eat later on. It was an amazing day.
  4. After careful deliberation: 1. Beelz- Stephen Lynch It's about Satan. Only it shows the true side of Satan. I tried to find a stream but couldn't, but I suggest you check it out because it's really funny. 2. Halloween- Stephen Lynch This one isn't really about Halloween, but it's funny. Be warned that his stuff is vulgar, but it's also very funny. 3. Ghostbusters Theme- Ray Parker Jr. 4. Halloween- Dave Matthews Band 5. Mind Playing Tricks On Me- Geto Boys There we go. Five songs, all somehow related to Halloween.
  5. Living in America is so restricting. If you lived in some other European country it would be rated G and promoted as a family movie (just like Team America. And that's a fact).
  6. I read the lyrics for that song and immediatly downloaded it. It is one of the most amazing songs that I have ever heard, and one of the most haunting. This is one song that you owe it to yourself to listen to, and maybe it will explain some of the crappy music out there today, and why the world is the way it is.
  7. Who hasn't seen it? Any true Pink Floyd fan must have seen it, and anyone who claims to like rock and roll should. It is probably one of the best movies I have seen, and perfectly captures the album. The imagery is haunting and unforgettable, and it does an excellent job of documenting the album and Pink's lapse into insanity.
  8. We need a thread that charts the statistics of all the nominators, like percentage of songs in top 10, number of songs nominated, votes recieved etc. Even if everyone did their own it would be really cool. Just a thought, don't know how realistic it would be.
  9. I'm living certain lines from certain Tom Petty songs right now, like "Amercian Girl" and "Last Dance For Mary Jane."
  10. 1. A**hole - Denis Leary 2. Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin 3. Hurricane- Bobby Dylan 4. Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple 5. Ride Captain Ride - Blues Image 6. Red House - Jimi Hendrix 7. Question - The Moody Blues 8. El Condor Pasa - Simon & Garfunkel 9. Roxanne - The Police 10. Jungle Boogie - Kool & The Gang
  11. This is really tough: 1. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd (1975) The greatest song ever 2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles (1968) Greatest Beatles song 3. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan (1965) Classic 4. Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix (1967) Do I have to say anything? 5. My Generation - The Who (1965) Introduced them to the world 6. Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison (1967) I love this song. 7. House of the Rising Sun - The Animals (1964) An amazing work 8. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel (1970) Gives me goosebumps. 9. White Room - Cream (1968) I don't know why I like it. I just do. 10. Imagine - John Lennon Plastic Ono Band (1971)Not my favorite, but still great
  12. In my opinion: Good Rap Artist: -Run DMC -A Tribe Called Quest -Common -Talib Kwali -Lupe Fiasco -Early NWA -Public Enemy -Early Snoop Dogg -Tupac Shakur (Most, anyway) -Notorious BIG -Jay Z -The Roots -Ice T/ Body Count (Ice T has the most gangsta lisp ever) -Early Busta Rhymes -Geto Boys Bad/ Annoying Rap (abridged version): -50 Cent -Eminem -Kanye West (has some bearable) -Ludacris -Nelly -Mike Jones The problem with most artists is that as time goes on they strat away from their roots and try to be something they're not, or do something just to gain attention. I believe that hip hop really died when Eminem came out, because there isn't really any good mainstream stuff after that. There are only a few good artists today, but they are shunned because they don't fit the mold of a normal rapper.

  14. The Monday Night Football theme.
  15. That song was in Anchorman, the greatest movie ever. It has my vote. U2 need some more love, so Beautiful Day and my who nomination is going to be: Behind Blue Eyes. If you have not heard that song, you must take a listen, because it is not only the best Who song, I think it is one of the top songs ever made.
  16. In the end, the Who have sold their songs for use in many commercials. I all but guarantee there is no other band who has had as many songs in advertising as the Who, and I would gladly invite someone else to find me a band who makes this statement false, because I would like to see it. There is no way the Who can not survive on what they have now, however "little" it may be, and even so, there are many other ways to make money then selling songs for commercials. I think that is what it comes down to, not if they got screwed or not. If they did, then I'm sure that they would be able to survive without the commercials. No other self respecting band would do what the Who have done, and although I love their music, I question the means they use to publicize it.

  18. 1. Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers 2. Love Reign O'er Me - The Who 3. Purple Haze- Jimi Hendrix 4. Nights In White Satin- Moody Blues 5. Helter Skelter- The Beatles 6. White Room- Cream 7. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd 8. Wild Thing - The Troggs 9. Brass In Pocket (I'm Special) - The Pretenders 10. You're So Vain - Carly Simon
  19. I'm Too Sexy- Fishnet vests
  20. Let me try to be a voice of reason. The Who are also one of my favorites (if not favorite), and I have never heard Daltry comment on the subject, yet Townshend seems to be very vocal on all subjects related to the band. At last count there were about 15 songs used in some sort of advertising, and it seems as if this number is rising by the day. There is also little doubt in my mind that Pete Townshend benefited from almost everyone, and Daltry is merely along for the ride. As for for knowing the facts, The Who are not one of Fintan's favorite bands, but his absolute favorite, and I believe his information before anyone elses. If there is information to prove me wrong, I would gladly accept it, but I highly doubt there is.
