  1. Ron, you need to be the offical spokesman for Jersey! I want to go there more than any place I can think of anymore...even more than Key West!! The sites just get more enticing!!
  2. Today for a contest I do on my show I used a lyric from the song Listen To The Music, and I was reading the info here on SF, read what Tom Johnston said about music changing the world. There was a time when we thought it could... Listen To The Music
  3. Sad news, he was one of my favs. Loved him in All That Jazz. He was good in the first Jaws movie, part 2 not so great, terrible story. Liked him in Klute and the TV show SeaQuest. He will be missed. R.I.P.
  4. Heatwave compared to here.... 2F and wind chill around 15 below at the moment. And we have a winter storm on the way, may get 10 inches of snow by Tuesday afternoon!!
  5. So true, so true and sad. But as Tim said it does change your life and that counts for something.
  6. I just read this story and it's heartbreaking, brought tears to my eyes. Just very sad.
  7. Sounds like a night of fun!! But no beer for me, just line up the shots of Jack please!!
  8. Love it Tim!! Wish I could get out of my writers block. Trying to write but has been tough. I won't post on here anyway but I just want to get back in the flow of writing. I feel for you Tim. Keep writing, it is the best relief and sometimes even better than friends and family.
  9. Yes it is and you feel like the bad blind date or something. I would rather hear something honest, deal with it and move on, instead of the standard BS lines.
  10. Well you are a guy after all!! And also a gentleman, kudos b-f for the apology!
  11. Oh how about this one..."you're such a great friend"!!
  12. Yes they were Tim, but look at the quality of their voices and the unique sound of both Janis and Dusty. Some have covered songs from both women and have sounded like...well not so great. Joss has that soul edge to her with the bluesy feeling felt in her songs also. And Melissa Etheridge has covered Janis tunes and kicked azz...she isn't all that young! (in her 40's)
  13. Wow b-f, I'm impressed. The show we have here in the states is cool. Real women can be beautiful...we really can, just take a look and see!
  14. I for one do, she has an amazing voice and she is also a songwriter, so she is young, everyone listed here was young and some died young. Doesn't make them any less talented. I know you're expressing your opinion here b-f and I love you dearly, but I don't find it cool to put down someones nom. You don't like her, don't vote for her, just as easy as that, no biggie. We all have our likes and dislikes in music but need we express our dislikes to a fellow SF's nom?? Ok now let me have it....I'm in the mood for a fight!
  15. The word special....you are so special...you're a special person. I mean that is like the biggest slam, falls into the category of you're a nice person.
  16. Laurie, I'm so thrilled you nominated Joss!! When I first got her debut album I couldn't stop listening, and I have loved her ever since. I never thought anyone other than Dusty could do Son Of A Peacher Man, but Joss kicks it!!
  17. Wow Tim, that bites...know the feeling. ((((Tim))))
  18. Collard greens with onions and smoked sausage and some grits. Got the southern comfort food thing going on.
  19. 1 - Janis....she is the meaning of female rocker, she felt every note and word of a song when she sang it, and the best part...she made you feel it right along with her. 2- Chrissie Hynde...beyond cool and an amazing talent. She has given new meaning to the word sexy when it comes to female rockers.
  20. Pearl Jam and Metallica top the bill for the 2008 edition of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, giving the seventh annual event its most diverse and hard rocking lineup yet. Jack Johnson, Kanye West, The Raconteurs, My Morning Jacket, Phil Lesh & Friends and Death Cab For Cutie are also playing Bonnaroo. While a Led Zeppelin reunion set had been rumored for months, the producers pulled a bit of a prank on fans, booking all-female cover band Lez Zeppelin instead. However, Robert Plant will be on hand, teaming with Alison Krauss. Also set for Bonnaroo are Willie Nelson, Sigur Ros, B.B. King, Ben Folds, Against Me!, Rilo Kiley, Lupe Fiasco and O.A.R., among many others. Comedy has continually become a larger aspect of the festival, with David Cross, Janeane Garofalo, Jim Norton, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn all performing. Ticket buyers will also be offered the option of buying a commemorative DVD of Bonnaroo, which will be shipped out in December. Tickets go on sale at bonnaroo.com next Saturday, February 16 at noon ET. Bonnaroo is Pearl Jam's only confirmed appearance of 2008. The band has not played since last summer's Lollapalooza in Chicago. It is also Metallica's first announced 2008 date on American soil, as the Metal legends have already announced a number of European festival dates. Their new studio album is expected out later in the year.
  21. Well, maybe....but if you are a good person, respect the person you're with and pitch in with everything involved in a relationship and not just be there, then I bet you will find someone. Chicks who are into money, well odds are they won't be around for long...someone with more money will come along, they always do.
