  1. see, here's a guy who speaks my language! (well two of them anyway, being german and english) i know, the cream is pure gluttony - that's me baby! ooh another one: pancakes, ice cream and several little slices of heaven also known as banana - yum!
  2. oh my god das, what the hell are you talking about?! pancakes were designed to have fruit on them - there is nothing better in this world than a pancake with a selection of warmed mixed berries, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a healthy dollop of pouring cream!
  3. thanks elvy you people are so lovely!
  4. i don't like coldplay nowadays but parachutes! it's in my top ten! as is moon safari actually! urban hymns not so much, it's good but way down the list!
  5. very bold das! people will think that woman was me now but to set the record straight i do not, i repeat, do not... have a baby!
  6. thank you sweetness. my big problem right now is something i just realised last night - i can't cry in front of anyone but him. through the years we were together a lot of stuff happened in my life and he was always the one i let my guard down with and really really cried. i've been puzzling over the fact that i haven't been able to let go and be upset over the last month but now i realise why. i don't know how to adapt to this. i'm not really coping. but i know, time... please excuse the momentary self-absorption! i promise it will be as fleeting as possible!
  7. ^ excellent! what do you call a drummer without a girlfriend? homeless.
  8. i am quite desperately craving contact with my ex-boyfriend (it feels weird calling him that). it's been a month since we broke up after seven years together. at 24 years of age, i'm single for the first time in 8 years. it is a huge adjustment trying to get used to not seeing him or talking to him every day. i don't remember ever feeling lonely like this.
  9. show-off! i don't get no pms these days. hmph!
  10. i completely get where you're coming from - this is the first series that i just haven't bothered to watch and considering the amount of rubbish television i've been watching since breaking my foot, that's really saying something!!!
  11. oh wow, i am loving your bitter cynicism peaches! so vitriolically cool!
  12. my brother and some of my friends are viola players - they make the viola jokes more than anyone! What's the definition of a minor second? Two violists playing in unison. Why do so many people take an instant dislike to the viola? It saves time. What do a viola and a lawsuit have in common? Everyone is happy when the case is closed. Apologies if this is a re-post but I'm sure the songfacts men can do with a refresher!! 9 things women say: 1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. 2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. 3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine. 4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! 5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.) 6.) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake. 7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. 8.) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying F@!K YOU! 9.) Don't worry about it, I'll do it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3.
  13. joe! you have definitely gotten cheekier in my absence!!! i'm shocked, appalled, and more than a little impressed!
  14. i had my MRI scan last week and got the results yesterday - i have a stress fracture in my foot. this is sooooooo annoying because i've already been sitting on my arse for four weeks and now i have to rest for at least another fortnight - my fitness has gone way down and i'm feeling more than a little depressed. allergic!!!
  15. i read this book when i was 13 and i adored it - it's still one of my favourites although i've only managed to read it twice! still have to take on 'war and peace'!
  16. unfortunately i won't be able to go to any of those either - i'm only on the west coast of the states for five weeks, starting in july. but hopefully some other people will make use of the information and manage to catch her live! i'll just have to wait till she comes around again, hopefully it won't be too long!
  17. aaaw i'd love to go to the midlands festival - the line-up is great! but i'll be somewhere between LA and San Diego at that point!! thank you nonetheless b-f!
  18. yes you're absolutely right. being a vocalist i always rate the voice first! but my ex-boyfriend is a guitarist and he was seriously impressed by her! i haven't heard enough of her stuff, i have to admit, but she plays cork occasionally so i will definitely make an effort to see her next time!
  19. rory gallagher originally came from donegal but cork was his home for much of his life and he's buried close to my grandad. most of the other musicians from cork wouldn't really be known internationally i think, except for maybe the sultans of ping fc, most famous for that song 'where's me jumper'!
