  1. i have a few of nik cave's records and i do love his work, just reluctant to fork out close to e100 without knowing how his live show is so i reckoned i'd ask the opinion of the lovely pople at songfacts! thanks boys, i think i'll probably go for it!
  2. yup it's very reminiscent of early nineties techno! you should check them out - they're filthy, and gorgeous!!!

well i'm 21 so i might be too young for that one! still it usually takes about four years for things to reach irish tv!! thanks guys, i'll check it out, it's been bugging me for years!!
  4. have any of ye heard the version of 'comfortably numb' on the scissors sisters album? i'm a floyd fan myself but i absolutely love it! then again i'm quite crazy about the band in general - they stole the show at oxegen this year. ana matronic is cool and feisty! and the lead singer is like a cross between bowie, elton and freddie with a bit of his own flavour thrown in. i found it hilarious how, despite being as flamboant as they come, he managed to have the beer-swilling lager lout o-waay-sis fans in the audience screaming out 'you're a legend!!!' at him! i feel quite sure that if they met him down an alley they'd give him a kicking! anyway back to the question, i would be interested to here some of your opinions...?
  5. just wondering if some of you reliable folks out there could advise me. my boyfriend's coming over to visit in two weeks (after two months of not seeing eachother) - yay!! anyway i reckon we might actually leave my place at some stage and take a look around munich... point being the weekend he's here nick cave and the bad seeds are playing but the tickets are 45 euro each which is a little bit pricey. can anyone tell me whether they think it would be worth it?! alternatively one of the members of weezer is doing a solo tour and he's meant to be quite good, playing the same weekend with cheaper tickets i'd imagine. advice welcome, in fact very much requested!!
  6. actually, sort of on this topic, is it possible to take mine down again now that it's been up long enough for all the important people to see??!
  7. why don't they come to cork or munich??! wow, that's amazing news joe, i'd love to see that!
  8. last year for christmas my mum gave me a gorgeous three cd collection of all the old jazz legends and rat pack boys singing every christmas song you could think of ; nina, ella, billie, eartha, etta, frank, dean... etc etc. it's really christmassy and lovely ever since i can remember one of our big christmas traditions/jokes revolved around a christmas album by these americans called 'the roches sisters'. my mum absolutely loves it but we all hated it! every christmas we would try and hide it so that we wouldn't have to listen to it, but always gave it up in the end. i actually don't feel like it's christmas without it and i think my three brothers secretly love it too!!
  9. i love lots of rap! i don't go out of my way to listen to it but i get well into it in da club! when i was doing my leaving cert (final exams at the end of school in ireland, most important exams of your life!) after i got home at the end of every exam day i put on 'the next episode' and went crazy, then sat down and studied for the next. i love snoop dogg's voice! also not sure if this counts cos i'm rubbish at categorising music but i love to listen to the beastie boys and rage against the machine when i'm feeling angsty!

hey, when i was a child i remember seein this movis about world ware ii that realy upset me but the only scene i vividly rememebr is one where they strip all the jewsih people and separate th men from the woman, i just remember seeing all these husbands and wives clinging to eachother naked in absolutey desperation, it was a very striking (ad upsetting scene). can ayone tell me what film it came from??!
  13. this idea rocks my world!!!
  14. how buout stilll in love with you by thin lizzy: Still In Love With You (Lynott) ---------------------- Think I'll just fall to pieces If I don't find something else to do This sadness never ceases I'm still in love with you My head, it keeps on reeling It's got me in a crazy spin Darling, darling, darling Is this the end? Still in love with you They say time has a way of healing Dries all the tears from your eyes But darling it's this empty feeling My heart can't disguise After all that we've been through I try my best but it's no use I guess I'll keep on loving you Is this the end? Now that it's all over, woman There's something I think you should know Baby, baby, think it over Just one more time before you go Call on me baby If there's anything I can do for you Call on me baby Help me see it through I'm still in love with you althogh i'm not sure cso there's a certain amount of resignation in the lyrics... see what you think... bella canzone tho!
  15. ooh i get rhcp lyrics wrong all the time, like 'with the birds i'll share this lonely view' i was always singing some unintelligible mess of syllables somewhere along the lines of 'with the birds in the shade it's so lonely of you.' i tend to make up stuff if i don't know the real words. i once went to a morrissey concert and ended up in the front row with all the die-hard fans - managed to mouth along to every song when i only knew the words to about four - i even fooled my best friend who was there with me!
  16. oooh exciting! i'll expect in on my desk by the end of the day! actually there was a lovely song written about me before but it never quite attained worldwide recognition!!
  17. my mum ran away with the maharishi back in the seventies, met a spanish girl called gisela and that's how i got my name! (strangely enough when she met my dad his mother's name was also gisela but she had already decided on the name long before!)
  18. no i wasn't actually joe! you're a mine of information : ) wow, i'd love to have a world famous song written about me!!
  19. 'then you fold it over like this buh... it doesn't go...it just doesn't work' (or something like that, you need the visual really!)
  20. carole is so great! i was watching the virgin suicides on tv (dubbed into german) and during the scenes where they play songs to eachother down the phone, her song 'so far away' came on, just for a minute and i cried my eyes out. some of her songs are so simple but just beautiful
  21. how about air (french&english) or bjork (icelandic&english). not sure if they mix the languages in songs though...?
  22. wow *positively glowing* you know, i don't think many people in my life have noticed this but i try to every day give at least one compliment to somebody because it makes me feel good to make others feel good.
